All very steady away. One half chance each and a couple of hundred poolies present.

What is it with Ben Killip and corners, flapped at and missed, at fault for their goal. Dimi has work to do with him.

Dreadful goalkeeping and easily the worst performance of the season.

Bullied the entire half, only consolation is we are only one goal down.

Sutton are big, strong, physical. Horrible to watch, a long ball side but effective. Pools struggled to cope for first 30. Bit more even since then but a lot of work to do at half time.

Still in the game though at 1-0 which as Chris Turner told us isn't 2-0 which is very dangerous.

Timi needs to learn how to knock a ball forward when we have been on the attack and still have men forward. He looks like a rabbit caught in the headlights when a ball is played back to him when on his own and invariably he then passes back to keeper and momentum is gone. Doh!

Slightly better after half time but don't be surprised if it's a repeat score line of our last game at their ground.

Don't know who's doing the coverage for BBC text service, but you would think we 'd hardly been in the game at all.

Reminiscent of the Bromley away game last season where the team selection, weather, performance and ref were all shit. Hoping for a jammy equaliser but more likely someone will get sent off. I should just buy the home game streams!

Remember that time we all agreed Jo Johnstone was the worst human being to ever referee a football match? Well...

Having said that, we've had one off the line, their keeper pulled off 2 great saves and Sterry almost scored at the finish. One of those games........

Ref was poor but nowhere near as bad as the performance and no excuse.

That game tonight was as clear an indication of any that we need to sign a fucking striker. Woeful up front.

Sutton bullied Pools for 45 minutes then conned the ref for the next 45. The only surprise is Pools had 3 or 4 good chances to equalise - Sutton should have been out of sight after half an hour.

Squad wise there's next to nowt behind the Pools first 11. Says it all that Molyneux stayed on the pitch the full 90 minutes. He didn't look like he fancied it from the first minute to the last.

For 85 minutes Pools we're truly awful and clueless. As has been said, they were bullied and fell into Sutton's game plan. One to forget.

With all games like this, they should be quietly buried in an unmarked grave, after the match post motrem.

Lost it in midfield for me. 3 technical centre midfielders up against some big bruisers for Sutton.

was like going back 12 months in time. was just a typical non league game we got used to. pools being bullied in midfield, the opposition with big athletic lads outmuscling us in most departments and a ref who was easily conned by their tactics. got the impression he knew he was being conned otherwise how did byrne stay on the pitch with 2 fouls just after his caution. looking at what really matters in the game goals and chances. wo had as many as them on target and with a non flapper in the nets we could have come back with a point. can see a few games at sutton not finishing with 22 men on the pitch this season. doubt other teams will change their style of play to play the sutton way to blunt pools in games. doubt they,d have recruited a team like them.

Dave Challinor's take on the game: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/p09vz7lz

Interesting to hear him say he told Ben Killip to command his 6 yard box "and he didn't do it." When has he ever?

And Gav Holohan might be out for a month :(

Glad I did not travel for that one.. I've been to Sutton a few times and know what they are like. At least Killip made his mistake away from home, so less pressure. There were plenty of other players that did not cope with Sutton's tactics though. Unfortunately we made them look good. We may have got a point from it at the end but really it would have not been deserved. Onwards and upwards.

hopefully the new keeper will be given a chance, he's always got a clanger in his locker, Killip

problem is with losing that game will the team just be happy with a point at oldham when really they should be looking for all three. doubt we,ll see the same amount of shithouse non league tactics being used by them. an early goal could see their fans turning on everyone connected with their club giving it a toxic atmosphere we can use to our advantage.

just flaps at every cross that comes in. he actually got away with a few in the second half as well. never looks comfortable in these occasions and just gives the opposition hope and encouragement to work him at every opportunity. think DC is wasting his words with someone who just has not got it in his make up as you say when has he ever. only three choices available to DC. try the other lad, live with killip or sign a keeper who looks happy in commanding the goal area.

Surely there must be an unattached striker out there who would want to get himself back into the game instead of kicking his heels waiting for the "right offer" to come along.

Can't blame Killip when our forwards can't finish a happy meal. We could of scored several more times against Bristol and I thought Killip was great that match. That said I'd give Jono Mitchell a game.

I can't answer that question but if I was an out of work striker in my late twenties/early thirties I would be breaking my neck to get game time.
Pools are an ideal situation to get an out of work striker back in the limelight because we create chances.
Pricing yourself out of the game means you won't get game time, won't score goals and won't get other teams interested. These players have got to have a good look at themselves and, as I say, surely there is somebody, somewhere, willing to lower his sights to resurrect his playing career...........surely.

I’ve never been convinced by Killip. Like me mam’s Uncle Billy used to say about keepers, they need confidence, concentration and capability, and he should know.

remember talking to the late frank worthington when he was manager of tranmere in the players lounge at leeds road after a reserve game. this was back in the mid 80,s and he was looking for a new keeper. in his words he was looking for a lad who might not make the save of the season but would save the ones expected of him and help his defence out when the ball came into the box. nothing seems to have changed nearly 40 years later but have got worse.

Back to live streaming for everyone again. Anyone else who think games should be streamed live tomorrow to ease the problem of getting fuel and not using it to go to matches.

Not going back there. I saw us lose 6-1 and turned down and afternoon in bed with my girlfriend.

Luckily my wife does not have any interest in football and especially not on this forum. :shhh:
