Tranmere 0-1 Pools

I'm having an under 2.5 goals bet on this one.

I think we may see our first league draw tomorrow - Hopefully Holohan is fit to play although Daly seems to be a good enough replacement should he not be. I have been impressed by this young man. DC noted as saying that the lad also scored in behind closed doors games against the Boro and the Heed. Defintely a good impact sub which i feel we have not had in a long time. (discounting Bennett as he became a regular and would of stayed that way i reckon had his loan not expired).

Think ZFA and Sterry were also carrying knocks. Hope those 2 are fit aswell. Although Hendrie / Lawlor would do a job at CB as i was pleased with both their inputs on Tuesday

Hopefully Josh Hawkes doesnt play as i fear the curse of the ex player. Danger man for me for Rovers would have to be McManaman, how they got this man is beyond me. prime age of 30 having just come back from Playing in the A league down under. Nicky Maynard is also a new recruit for Rovers. Not too concerned about his ageing pace anymore though.

weirdly enough when checking their first team roster on their OS - there is 2 random players. One looks massively overweight to be a (pro) defender then there is a pic of some old swedish guy in the midfield. Not sure if its a gesture of goodwill as both may have passed or its a bit of banter. Either way very random.

They’ve recruited well. We didn’t - would have loved to see Gime Toure back.

Eddie Kyle saying bfor game the Chairman's stance on not to pay decent wages could come back to haunt him.

Watching the live stream for a tenner, with the BBC Tees commentary on.

Pools much the better side in the first half and should really be in front. The ref is a worry though - has already given Tranmere a couple of soft free kicks in dangerous areas and booked Sterry for fook all.

Didn't take long to come back to haunt us. We would of been top with a finisher in the side.

Bad defending for their goal.
Old school left back stays on post then no goal.
We knocked a few half decent balls into their box but no end product.
Maybe Eddie Kyle is talking sense as usual.

Atrocious refereeing and complete inability to put the ball into dangerous areas from dead ball situations, which Josh Hawkes did for their goal. Too many overhit/underhit balls into the box and of course the lack of a predator. Goodwin worked his knackers off, good performance from the back three and Ogle when he came on. Deserved at least a point but still in play off positions so we'll take that. Just hope away days don't become a monkey on our backs.

Really frustrating defeat but another good performance.

The more games we play, the more I am convinced we can hold our own in this division. Something I thought was never going to happen after the pre-season.

As many have said, we are a decent centre forward away from being a decent team, even more of an issue with Burey’s injury.

In terms of there goal, Hawes floated it in without a lot of pace to the edge of the six years box. Yes their centre half outjumped our defence but my view is a decent keeper would have come and claimed that ball or at least got a punch on it.

Agree. To be honest I half-expect the opposition to score every time there's a corner or a free kick from a wide position. Killip won't come off his line and he's got no chance of saving from a close range header. The Trannies had 7 corners - Pools got a head to 6 of them but the last one did for us.

Some people have been trying to say he's had a good start to the season but the truth is our outfield players defend so well he's hardly had a save to make.

We’ve scored 10 goals in 7 games. The commentators on Ifollow who were Trannie employees/fans said on numerous occasions we were the better team, had more commitment/desire than their lot.

Let’s not get too upset after one defeat

Still a decent start but the Transfer Window was a chance to help improve the squad especially up front as injuries are bound to happen.
Cullen n Burey injured. Then the other loanie forward is due back with his parent club in January along with Burey.
I'd say most Poolies aren't disappointed with our 2 defeats just concerned that DC is being asked to perform miracles with this current squad.
And he needs to try n find a free agent forward which won't be easy.
Anyhow this is a better problem than anutha Vanarama Season.

come on lets get a bit realistic about the situation. at the start of the season who would really have predicted that we ran most of the game at tranmere and were unlucky not to win never mind just sharing the points. its not as if pools have been lucky at home and the luck evening itself out on the road. pools away form has never been brilliant and knowing football i hope we,ll break our away duck. think that will happen when we do not expect anything from a game and play poor scoring a lucky goal or a penalty that wasn,t.

think burey being out between 2 to 8 weeks may give us a problem. bad enough to lose him like that and drop 3 points on top of it.

ask buster. he,ll know more about him than anyone else at the club. is he just unfit or has some sort of niggling injury. if it is fitness how long does it take for a lad in his 20,s to get near or totally fit.

This.
The reason Killip kept plenty of clean sheets last season was due to the defence protecting ,him not his goalkeeping ability.
His shots on target/saves ratio must be very poor.
