It was reported he punched the ref yesterday, now he’s tapped him on the chest. Videos show he actually slapped the refs arm lightly. He obviously had a few choice words for the ref like!

Refs seem afraid to make the big calls these days , in this case it appears at the risk of upsetting his paymasters , the FA. Business Development Manager in the real world, a professional !!

Reffed our game at Yeovil when we won 3-1

just imagine there had been fans there. a complete ameteur farce anyway. the promlem with todays refs at this standard is that many have sold their souls to the FA years ago once they started going up the greasy pole of promotions. cannot or unwilling to give any decisions necessary themselves and constantly rather upset clubs and players rather than their bosses. been out with some who actually say in their pre match talk that we, the ref and 2 linesmen are the most important team out there. no you are not you are just an important necessity and no more. as for the so called assault, it sounds like even less than the di canio push years ago when the ref then made more of it than it was. reffed for nearly 28 years, never been properly assaulted but pushed a few times without it ever bothering me. being over 6ft tall and just under 13 stone may have helped though.

Assaulted once , pushed once, and abandoned games both times, no way was I going to carry on when I couldn't assault or push them back, and I was over 6ft and probably over 13st, not that I think that matters. Both times though I felt sorry for the vast majority of the players on the pitch, whom had just come out to play and enjoy a game of football, only for it to be spoiled by a couple of dickheads on either side. Each ref to their own, but I don't think for 20 quid refs should be carrying on if they are assaulted, whether physically or verbally.

the problem is that they tend to be the same people week in week out. the way some refs actually talk to some of the players as if they were shit does not surprize me one bit. then you get the situation where people like me get all the grudge games week in week out which happens in all levels of football to some extent. the moneys still the same as well for the gridge match and the one you only blow your whitle twice in a game for the kick off.
