Well what a week or so it's been, a team that looked like it was more likely to trouble the bottom than the top has finally woken up. Amazing what happens when you sign a proper striker, turned our season round instantly. We have carried a bit of luck recently but so what when do we ever get much. Big game at Halifax now, if we have intentions on putting any sort of pressure on Torquay its probobly a game we need to win, they like pools are bang on form. Amazing what a couple of good signings can do Rhys Oates playing well for us and some battle< thats long been missing.

is it a coinicidence or what that all this has happened with the signing of sterry. apart from the goals only one conceded in the last 3 games as well. it certainly would be a minor miracle to catch torquay up though, but like every club in this league they are not a cross between barcelona and liverpool.

Sterry has been a great addition to the squad and the ideal replacement for young Cass, who was starting to struggle playing week in, week out after a good start to his own Pools career. There must be a strong chance that an EFl club will come in for Sterry in the transfer window but fingers crossed we can hold onto him. I thought Joe Bunney had a very good game yesterday too filling in for Ferguson, who might be out for a while.

Torquay well and truly burst Pools' early season bubble at the end of October. Turns out they are the team everyone is struggling to beat, but I fancy our chances of getting some sort of result down at Plainmoor in March. They night be out of sight by then though!

Agree about Sterry, and Bunney has done it before at a higher level , so every chance he could rediscover that consistency. I think Torquay will get pulled back, they will hit a brick wall at some point , as Barrow did last season, but the points they have amassed so far, aided by a second wind/last push, should ensure they get over the line . They struggled at Weymouth yesterday, which was nice to see, then I noticed Danny Wright wasn't playing. Only Pools blow big points leads, if we are to finish top , a win down there is imperative.
