In the National League North. York have only played 4 games since the beginning of October. Darlo and Spennymoor 6 apiece. Some other teams have already played 10.

Don't know what proportion of cancelled games are down to Covid and what to waterlogged pitches, but if we don't get a relatively mild, dry winter the last weeks of the season will be a fiasco. Massive irony that the start of the NL season was only delayed to get the paying public in.

The pitches at those clubs mentioned are dodgy at the best of times, with Spenny usually have a backlog of fixtures during normal times.

Spendy have spent a fortune on getting their pitch sorted and it is now a very good pitch.
However they have had at least 3 games pulled due to covid that I know of. Likewise York.
We have had league games pulled due to the cup run. Our pitch isn't the best surface for playing on but it drains well and we only usually have a postponement when its a very hard frost.

Edit: I think we lost a game to covid too the other week.

Can see a lot of games being lost to the "virus" in January after families meet up at Christmas etc.
The season is due to end on 29th May. Cant see that happening but it should be no real problem if next season is pushed back to early September.
This season will be classed as preseason training for 21/22.

Yeah , I heard you the first time  Thinking about it, sure I heard that somewhere, but had forgot, might have been you LS who mentioned it, did they level the pitch whilst they were at it ?.

One table I bet Pools would be near the top of , is postponements, very few games called off at Pools over the years, due to the sea air combatting frost and snow , and our pitch been on a former rubbish tip makes it good for drainage they say.

Spendy have taken some of the slope away but its still got an incline on it.
By the way, what happened to the edit facility on this forum anyway?

Slope sometimes helps with drainage. A lot of things disappeared off this board a few months ago, but are gradually coming back, like being able to post pics again etc, but still no edit facility. Hopefully Mr I is looking in and can sort it out.

still nowhere as bad as the slope at alfreton where they should have a gradiant warning on it.

Big Sam preaching for a Circuit Breaker Football Lockdown.
Doctors NHS predicting a massive rise in covid cases in 3 weeks time.

Will PPG be required again.
Our good Xmas results could be vital if this vaccine doesn't get rolled out as fast as is expected.

Think we just have to muddle along now. I don't think there is one thing that is going to sort out this mess lightning quick, just a case of wait and see and in the meantime just carry on bumbling along, even though one club might have played 10 games more than another and may end up having 1 game to play in the last month of the season, its shit, but its the way it is, trying to implement things just for the sake of , looking like you are doing something, such as a circuit breaker, will only further confuse and depress people further. Obviously things can suddenly change, and we have to be prepared to change things immediately if necessary, but for now I would just let things bump along the bottom as they are doing , at least until March.

think the league should be planning now for every possible problem that may turn up from now to the end of the season. more likely last minute decisions like streaming live games will come up. the seasons end should be set in stone for me. if clubs get into a situation where more than 3 games in 8 days are needed then points for games should come into it again. another thing that could help is if two teams have had their games cancelled through the opposition having the virus then they should be allowed to bring their fixture forward if they have not played it yet. its not like fans are allowed into games and it should not take that much organisation.

North-East going into Tier 4 today along with practically everywhere except Cornwall, the Scilly Isles and bits of Yorkshire. Is football an essential industry? The way things are headed the government will be spared a decision by the sheer number of games called off.

On the bright side, with the Oxford AstraZenica vaccine approved we should be over the worst by early March.

7 free midweeks from 20th March to end of season so PPG should be a worst case scenario.
