I’m in the garden making a Raised herb bed with loads of electric tools out. There’s a big black cloud heading my way and I want to get this done before I electrocute myself.

Run for cover, it's just proper, and I MEAN Proper rained in the Metropolis for about 20 mins. Beware and run for cover.

It struck me that my approach has changed. Normally I would nip off to Wickes to buy timber for a job like this. Today I scouted around and used what I had. I needed some 4x2 and remembered that there was a broken fence up the road so I recycled some of that which would have been skipped otherwise. I even got some flowers for the missus. (One of the advantages of living near an accident black spot).

The job has finished perfectly well even though I’ve had to be a bit innovative in how I constructed the frame. I even utilised some left over wooden flooring.

The end result is good and looks as I wanted, total cost is zero. There’s a lesson in there for future reference.

It's stopped raining here. Hope you got your job done and kept dry.

Not that much rain here in south Hartlepool but then again we are nearer to the equator.
