Sad news that Doris has passed away. She was what I call a true supporter not only did she support the team but also the club. It would appear that the club was her life and whilst I have never actually spoken to her I will miss seeing her around the ground.
RIP Doris you will be remembered as Hartlepool no.1 fan. We

Hear, hear Johnjo1. Never met the lady but very sad to see such a long standing Pools fan pass on. RIP Doris. HUFC lives on.

Do you mean the woman with curly dark hair who used to leg up and down the Millhouse stand? It wasn't her, think Doris Ford was a good bit older. Nice picture and words on the official site.

They do look similar, and the woman you refer to I haven't seen selling tickets in the Mill House stand for awhile , I hope there is nothing wrong with her , as she was another cheery character who make up the essential fabrics of a small town football club.

The Supporters Association would like to pay tribute to Doris Ford who sadly passed away last week. Doris was a founder member of the S.A. and its first Secretary. Doris was not only a very efficient Secretary but she worked actively behind the scenes . She was instrumental in getting Manchester Utd. to play a memorable pre season friendly at the Vic. She helped to persuade Yuills, the builders, to erect a stand at the Rink End of the ground and she personally lent the S.A. money in order to complete the building of the Corner Flag. Doris will be sorely missed. R.I.P.
