Moved to Stevenage apparently for a five figure fee. Can only assume they're planning on a national league campaign next season?

Most of our x players play there best football bfor or afta they sign for Pools.
Quite a lot of our older signings come here for a final pay day when other clubs won't go anywhere near them.
And then there's let's sign injured players who used to be helish.

Last chance saloon next season to get it right for a change.
Can see Sing calling it a day next season if it goes tits up yet again.
Probably end up part time and that trust thing be needed.

UTP. :confusion-helpsos:

Graham Westley is manager again which probably explains it! He’s scored 5 league goals this season for Maidenhead so paying a fee and thinking he can step up back into the League is at best an odd move, but Westley is a very odd bloke! On the Undr the Cosh podcast he’s the one manager who no ex players or current players haven’t had a good word to say about. He came into manage Preston in League One when they had a lot of experienced players who had done well at Championship level on a day one told them that his kids referred to him as the ‘medal winner’. He was a ex non League footballer who’d had a bit of success with Stevenage as you can imagine from day one they just thought he was a bellend, a David Brent type character.

Well they have had the same manager 18 months, I reckon that would be quite a good starting point for us.

Is it time to to just let the manager get on with the job and see how it goes. We’re all armchair generals, but we never know the full picture yet steam in and give our advice.

When he was here he looked as though he’d rather be somewhere, anywhere else. Sometimes it’s not the club, manager or supporters who are to blame, maybe just a reluctant employee posing as a player.

He was never as bad as some people (one person mostly) made out, but he was another in a long line of strikers at Pools who couldn't/wouldn't/didn't score goals. The two we have now who have done a half decent job of scoring goals still get stick for odd individuals, and don't start on the polarising Luke James!

It's the Sky Sports generation, they expect Harry Kane levels of consistency in the National League, fun fact, it doesn't happen!

Never a big Cassidy fan, always expected him to do better and score more, maybes Westley thinks he can spark his career? On a similar vain look at Padraig Amond in his time with us never really seemed to be at his best at Newport he can’t stop scoring, great at Grimsby aswell but very average for us.

Amond was a big disappointment for us considering how he played before and after he joined us

I don’t think Amond was the ‘big disappointment’ that season for us to be honest from our conman chairman and late wages to Dave Jones. Amond was a hard working player who scored 14 league goals, his goals per starts ratio in the Football League for Pools is better than at any other club he’s played for including Newport. People’s view of him is tainted because he wanted out after relegation, in hindsight can you blame the him? He was absolutely right to want out of a train wreck on the verge of going out of business.

Correct, remember the circumstances players were playing under at the time. Hardly conducive to a settled atmosphere. Like flying on a plane where the owner had sold the fuel in the tanks and told you in mid Atlantic. Tends to disturb you.

honestly he could not have been a worse time to be at a club. even morecambe and accrington when he was there were more stable. could really understand his attitude at the time.

I'm more just shocked they didn't pick up one of the leagues better forwards like Kabongo Tshimanga, Jamie Reid, Danny Rowe or Scott Quigley. Seems to be working out for him so far though.
