Got to fancy an away win here. Ebbsfleet have the worst defence in the league, only one home win in the league this season and with our new-found attacking style we must fancy our chances.

Two nil away win....

Agree totally, everything pointing to an away win but we all know what that means usually with Pools.

2-1 Loss.

They've put both Sutton and Chorley away recently which is something we couldn't do. Those two results look more horrendous with each passing week.

Nonetheless you've got be confident after what's been a very encouraging month or so. Especially on the back the superb cup win on Tuesday.

1-0 to Pools.

Yes, it always seems when the expectation is on Pools to win they do the opposite. But, given the bounce our new management team has given us and with increasing attacking options available, I'm tipping us to do it and propel us into the top half....

would not put a counterfeit penny on the result. higher the expectations the shitter performance will be made. any points are welcome especially if killip rushes his goal kicks if we are one up and not upsetting the ebbs fleet massive.

7 points off the top as things stand with Barrow being top a team who have lost as many games as us. Absolutely wide open League this year.

So annoying, so Pools.

We are dropped so many soft points this season we should be in a far better position.

That just sums up being a pools fan, even at 2-0 up and playing 10 men I never feel comfortable as we so often hit the self destruct button. Every time we get a sniff of closing in on the top 7 we blow it, lost count how many times weve let leads slip this season.

Theres no excuse for throwing games like that away though, yes they have travelled a lot this week but come on, worst home record in league, 2 up and playing 10 men, the game should be over. I think to really compete at the top we need a proper goal scorer and a more dominant keeper but that's obviously something for challinor to figure out.

Really does feel like a defeat that, absolutely gutted!

We really should and as you say it's so Pools. I'm losing count of the number of times we've simply chucked the game away.

A 2-2 draw when you've been 2-0 up, against 10 men, with less than 20 minutes to go is a piss poor effort.

Spineless pack of twats.

I texted my mate at half time saying that if we didn't win from this position then mid table is the best we can hope for this season. Kind of knew they were going to blow it.

The question is "what were the half time instructions?"
Were they

Go out and do the same and score another two
Or
Keep control of the game and hold onto what we have

It certainly looked like the second which was a gross error.

Yeah because that’s exactly how team talks work.

Jesus

It sounded like Holohan missed a sitter to put the game to bed just after half time. We don’t keep anywhere near enough clean sheets though.

I still dont think Mafuta and Featherstone offer enough protection to the back 4, neither can really sprint or get about quick enough. Not sure if Killip could have done better with either today but he been at fault for too many imo.

Another theory could be we just ran out of gas a little Challinor said he thought the players went a bit ‘safe’ instead of trying to kill them off we have also done the thick end of 2,000 miles this week.

We have to look at the goals we are conceding though it’s all too soft. I reckon we are only a couple of key players away from being decent.

Agreed we are nearly there. Be interesting to see what area Challinor decides to recruit for.

I notice the Flyde gk is on loan from Forest Green and is a north east lad.

Sounded like James had another good game.

It'll be interesting how much football Toure gets, after his problems with Challinor in the past, as on his day he's far better than this league.

As stated above, we're not that far away from being a good side at this level. We were 7 points off top spot at half time.
That said, we're Pools so don't get your hopes up!

Any pools player on his day is better than this league.

With regards to Gimme and the manager having problems, I don,t see it that way.
Gimme and his AGENT wanted things the Flyde chairman would not give, So Gimme went sick.(happens all the time)

Were 9 off top and 5 off the play offs, So all to play for.

So why are we absolutely bang average wins draws and losses wise? Good players eventually get to the top and usually do it before 21 games in.

Not really an opinion. Just a view on what the league table says. Most on here claim this league really isn't very good and there are no exceptional teams. Yet we still languish in 14th.

That miss and that second goal of theirs. FFS!

Nee to take our chances and cut out the cheap goals we concede.

agree. pools have had some great keepers over the years but the last two have left a lot to be desired. makes you wonder if the defence would be better as well with a really good keeper behind them who they could fully trust.

Football is all about opinions especially goalkeepers. Whilst I am not fully convinced with Killip mainly due to lack of height I thought Loach was as good as you get at this level. Of course he had his faults he wouldn’t be playing at this level if he didn’t. However look at his record at Pools. Two seasons never missed a game, man of the match more times than I can remember, supporters player of the year one season and players player of the year the next and the only reason he left was because we couldn’t afford him
As far as Jake Keane is concerned he did very well at Pools but his record since is not convinceing. Around eight clubs have had him and he has made under 50 appearances in eight or nine seasons.

Number 2 at Grimsby, Mansfield and Notts County and similar teams. Appears to have been a very good prospect who has not achieved his potential like many young players.

Agree totally, if he had shown anything like the form he displayed whilst here then he would have been getting a look in. Did we have shit keepers before Jake Kean and maybe he looked better than what he actually was?

Not impressed with Killip again for either goal we conceded to be honest, seems a nice lad and want him to do well but thats quite a few now he should have kept out of our net or done better with in my opinion.

Do we still have that Boro keeper on loan or did he go back?

even when killip has a decent game and cannot be faulted with the goals conceded there is always something about him where you expect the worst. he,s the type of keeper to me who would make a gordon banks type save one minute and the next let a miss hit shot go through his legs.
