Due to wind gusts blowing ball about, Maidenheads Keeper, spots Killip standing way off his line and hoffs a kick that ends up in the net in the 92 minute.

I hope not!!

1..1

Any away win with a clean sheet is good, now we face a good test on Tuesday, just pick the right team and tactics and we will have some idea where we are heading.

Not very often former strikers don't score against Pools but I think even Jake Cassidy would have been surprised if he had done.

Great win, surprised to suddenly see Donaldson starting games out of nowhere mind.

Nice confidence booster for the defence and Killip, obviously Killip has been written off by some after 90 minutes so probably means very little mind.

A belated, hard-fought win that should enable Higgy to sleep better in his bed if nothing else. Four points from the forthcoming two home games will have me believing again - we shall see.

Well done to anyone who travelled to the game yesterday. Could hear constant noise from Pools fans on the commentary. Proud to be a Poolie.

An excellent game in which Killip only had one save to make a header straight at him, distributes the ball much better than Loach both kicking and throw outs. To me the big difference is Mafuta a mountain of a man and crunching tackles a non league Graham Souness all we need is a bit more creativity around him and the strikers finishing the chances.

Pleased for Muir to notch, really thought he did well pre season but with little luck in front of goal. I like Kabamba but I reckon Muir more suits how Hignett wants to play to be honest.

Graham Souness good footballer but a shite pundit with that Neville prat just makes me to want to turn the tv off.

Well that was my first game on the season and admittedly I wasn't expecting much despite an encouraging summer. I think those first two results really dampened the spirits!

We were decent value for the win, Mafuta and Toure the stand out players, both impressive. Noble never stops trying but he is 'expensive' in the amount of times he gives the ball away. We really should take him off corners as well. However he should have scored in the second half and we were only a second goal away from being incredibly comfortable.

Raynes and Kerr need a run of games to build up a good understanding, I'm concerned there is a lack of pace in there though. All in all I think we'll do ok with that starting 11, Donaldson was a welcome addition but went off with cramp, understandable. How he didn't score just before half time is still a mystery, I was already celebrating it was such a good chance, haven't watched it back yet.

The difference for me will come with Molyneux comes in, I'm hoping he's going to be this seasons Nathan Thomas and win games on his own. We don't need Luke Williams at the moment, so I'd keep him on the bench, if we'd got a second goal I'd have thrown him on to build up minutes.

I was happy with Kilip, reminds me of a young Joe Hart, he distribution is a little erratic but he did get a couple of them spot on and launched good attacks. I'd encourage Toure to continue his direct style, he's dangerous but needs to get a shot away sometimes as well. Both Kabamba and Muir looked isolated but did well, really pleased for Muir, hope he can go on a run, there is goals in him for sure.

Maidenhead is a god awful ground, the only saving grace is it's easy to get to although my car parking did sting me for £7.50! I'm hoping to never have to go again, but I'll probably be back there next season!

Cheers for that. Been looking at the Maidenhead reaction to the game - they were pretty impressed by Pools. There's also a link to match highlights:

I've always wondered why they waste so much time with the build up on these highlight videos, a whole minute of fannying about before any action.

I wish they would also stop with replays. (Different camera angle I can understand) but 2 or 3 replays from.same angle? What's the point? We all have a scroll bar where we can just rewind it etc
