Maybe this type of thing could've been discussed in private between the club and the trust. Did the trust actually promise to give the club £250k? I highly doubt it, especially without the trust getting something in return.
Classic clickbait by Kennedy though and disappointing he didn't approach the trust to get their side of the story.
PJPoolie wrote:At no point in Raj’s notes does it say the Trust promised to put in £250,000 it says the figure was mentioned as something the Trust thought they could raise in January (when the club was on the edge).
I think the Trust should kindly ask Kennedy’s employers to edit or better remove the article altogether. It boils down again to people not really understanding what a suppprters Trust is there for.

An overspend of 60% in the first year leaves -40k for 3rd year, what happens then
Joe Mac wrote:The usual MENSA lot are loving this, claiming Singh is right as the trust have a go at Singh/Maguire ever week which is completely bollocks. Ironic that it's the same faction of fans who are saying this who were so far up coxalls arse it was unbelievable.
As much as we are all grateful for Singh & Co, fans have every single right to be a bit wary and never 100% trust owners as we have been well and truly fucked over in the past (TMH, Coxall, etc..).
Malcolm Dawes Knew My Father wrote:The fact is that for whatever reason the Chairman chose to point the finger at the Trust in his programme notes summarising his first year in charge. All it has achieved is to stir up old animosities among the fans. Was that his intention? It would be very interesting to know Jeff Stelling's take on this, not that I expect to - he's far too sensible to get involved!

Most of you dont even go to the games, yet all you do is slag other people off...... Some of you lot on here are a disgrace....

The Trust has a purpose, a reason, a constitution and subscribed members. I think they should be happy in their role and existence at present. A football club is for life, the Trust can slowly build funds for decades if needed, and hopefully the money is never needed, but it's there, it's legal, it's constitutional and it's doing things in the right way.
I for one (see what I did there) hope the Trust is never needed, but I'm a fully paid up member and a lottery subscriber as the next time we are in the shit, I'd like an organised body to be in a position to help, not panicking and going cap in hand to fellow football fans and scrapping an already empty barrel of goodwill.
**There are a small number of people who won't understand any of that message, and they don't want it explaining to them. Doesn't matter, we all support HUFC, doesn't have to be in the same way.

Coxall bullshitted his way through sorry spoke at an early Trust meeting in the Corner Flag from memory. Hardly what I’d describe as a tickle belly. The Trust were actually set up because people could see what was coming and what the people who had acquired the club were. People like Lewis and Norman who are still shit stirring now called them detectives and scaremongerers when they were 100% correct. These people were even negative towards Raj when they thought the takeover involved the Trust. They even started to slag off Jeff Stelling because of his affiliation to the Trust which is fucking unbelievable. Imagine doing that to a bloke as 100% positive for Pools as that?
Through the Trust, Stelling and Hignett Raj ended up on board. So they played a part in us still being here.
A Trust isn’t there to hand over money to the club. If you think they should you don’t understand what one is and should stop talking about it. Any fan Pools should be grateful that we have a Trust in place. Hopefully what happened last year will never happen again. Given the state of Football these days it would probably be naive to hope for that. When and if it does we’ll have a longer established stronger Trust in place. In an ideal World I’d have liked to see them involved now at board level, realistically maybe it was a bit early for them to get involved.
It’s about the future now though, no individual, no ego, no absolutely shameful and embarrassing point scoring from grown men who should be ashamed of themselves and the selfish and outright thick agendas that continue to divide and harm the club with going forward. Hopefully things are looking up now and the club have turned the corner, but one day it’s likely to be quite important that people went out of the way to set up a Trust for Hartlepool United. My membership has lapsed but I get it and am glad it’s there.

Maybe it's to detract from the worst season in the history of the club.
