This is just lazy, inaccurate, click bait.

They seem to just want traffic on Twitter feeds and the website so create sensationalist and misleading headlines.

How is just copying programme notes journalism? The chairman says it’s not a dig at the trust and at what point did the trust ‘promise’ £250,000? To me it seems like an early meeting where they felt that figure could be raised.

The Mail, like the local newspaper industry in general has gone down the pan but Pools coverage has always remained decent to this point. This is just terrible stuff.

Maybe this type of thing could've been discussed in private between the club and the trust. Did the trust actually promise to give the club £250k? I highly doubt it, especially without the trust getting something in return.

The Trust sent out an email this morning on the matter.

The email made it pretty clear that any offer of investment was always dependent on buying shares as a way of representing supporters - exactly what a trust is for. Raj Singh can't really believe that the trust ever offered to chip in £250,000 for no stake at all.

I think he just wants everybody to give him credit for establishing some stability. Given the state the club was in he doesn't need to start rewriting history for most sensible people to do that. Even the trust's email finishes by saying they love him deeply.

A football club is for life, the Trust can slowly build funds for decades if needed, and hopefully the money is never needed, but it's there, it's legal, it's constitutional and it's doing things in the right way.

I for one (see what I did there) hope the Trust is never needed, but I'm a fully paid up member and a lottery subscriber as the next time we are in the shit, I'd like an organised body to be in a position to help, not panicking and going cap in hand to fellow football fans and scrapping an already empty barrel of goodwill.

When Raj Singh was at Darlo he loved blaming the fans for everything.

I think he just wants to distract critics who are a bit pissed off with what you could call a mediocre season by reminding them of the mess the club was in. Saying that he has had to inject more cash than he promised because things were so bad is fair enough. Suggesting that the trust saying it could raise cash if needed to partially fund a take over was a promise of a hefty donation regardless of circumstances isn't. Hope he isn't slipping back into bad habits because he's done a better job than I'd dared to expect so far.

Coxall bullshitted his way through sorry spoke at an early Trust meeting in the Corner Flag from memory. Hardly what I’d describe as a tickle belly. The Trust were actually set up because people could see what was coming and what the people who had acquired the club were. People like Lewis and Norman who are still shit stirring now called them detectives and scaremongerers when they were 100% correct. These people were even negative towards Raj when they thought the takeover involved the Trust. They even started to slag off Jeff Stelling because of his affiliation to the Trust which is fucking unbelievable. Imagine doing that to a bloke as 100% positive for Pools as that?

Through the Trust, Stelling and Hignett Raj ended up on board. So they played a part in us still being here.

A Trust isn’t there to hand over money to the club. If you think they should you don’t understand what one is and should stop talking about it. Any fan Pools should be grateful that we have a Trust in place. Hopefully what happened last year will never happen again. Given the state of Football these days it would probably be naive to hope for that. When and if it does we’ll have a longer established stronger Trust in place. In an ideal World I’d have liked to see them involved now at board level, realistically maybe it was a bit early for them to get involved.

It’s about the future now though, no individual, no ego, no absolutely shameful and embarrassing point scoring from grown men who should be ashamed of themselves and the selfish and outright thick agendas that continue to divide and harm the club with going forward. Hopefully things are looking up now and the club have turned the corner, but one day it’s likely to be quite important that people went out of the way to set up a Trust for Hartlepool United. My membership has lapsed but I get it and am glad it’s there.

I wasn't happy with his comments last month about this season was always about consolidation.
The mighty Hufc consolidating in a non league division with 3000+ supporters and huge away support. .
The only way to end this bickering blame game is to get it right on the pitch next season.
I live in hope as usual.

Football will always be a results business.
Win and you will get hero cult status.
Lose and you will get stick and fans arguing the toss.

I can't believe all of this has been resurrected. Just when you think things are going well...

No matter what was or was not said or meant by Mr. Signh's comments at the weekend, it is evident the divide amongst fans will never cease. Its nothing shy of pathetic. Most of the facts no matter how many times they are thrown infront of people, folk dont want to believe them. It simply boils down to personal personas of each other. guilty on both sides of the fence. its all grown blokes arguing over sod all.

The Trust has its place, albeit if not required by the club they won't be required. But lets roll the times back over 20 years to start with. Although we gained promotion in 91, our chairman then took a gamble, breaking or stretching the limits of the wage brackets. This had a negative impact a gamble that never paid off. At that time my father painted the offices, changing rooms, training facilities etc etc... he never got paid, instead got an advertising board as reward. So I apologise but i am always sceptical from now on, as we had to settle for a summer holiday in Skegness and not Majorca...then we had stability through a true club hero, Mr. Hornsey. Things were steadied and settled and help make us an attractive proposition for a new owner once Mr. Hornsey had taken us as far as he could. I genuinely hope that Mr. Singh is the modern day Harold Hornsey. Following the sale to Mr. Hodcroft / IOR the club undoubtidly had their golden days and I only pray we can get there again one day. However, between these business men or Mr. Hodcroft and Mr. Hornsey (I'm going to group those two together due to the stability leading to the success) and our current owner Mr. Signh, we have had dubious owners and an unstable time. It looks like Mr. Singh is steadying the ship and I hope from next season we have a couple of cruises.

But this will only work if a line is drawn, folk allow the trust to continue to raise their profile and bank balance should it (and I hope it is never) be needed. Or why not back this organisation that is legally governed, and help build a pot for fans to join the board of a club we all supposidly love.

The takeover saved the club. The just giving money paid a mliionaires tax bill, but it created a lot of good will and publicity though so it certainly did no harm.

I know neither personally but they clearly have and have always had an agenda against the Trust. So I’m having a go at that not them. The Friends group only came about because of the anti Trust agenda at the end of the day, it was all very bizarre and they are both still at it at every opportunity.

It’s time for them and others to pack it in as it helps nobody at the end of the day especially when they clearly have or have made any effort to understand what the role of a Trust is.

I don’t do ironing and I have just had few Stella’s at the Pool in 36 degree heat, back at our 5 bedroom Villa now.

PJ, I generally disagree with what you say and how you say it - but, thus far, on this thread, you've been pretty much bang on the money. So don't get pulled into arguments with folk who clearly have never read the HUST constitution or, for example, didn't hear Singh say that he didn't want any more money/ investment.

If you have time on your hands, why not look at the fans forums for the likes of Chester and Stockport County - there are fans on these making some very interesting comments - well, interesting if you care about Pools.
