Northern Rail

Renamed in memory of John Hawksworth, a stalwart member who passed this day 2nd August 2020. RIP Mr Monkeybutt.

Sadly we must add the name of Kevin Minton, Aka Mr Ripper who passed 30/6/22. Kev was also Mr politically incorrect but a nicer lad you could never meet.

Are now dining travellers who don't have tickets before they board the train. Problem is that at stations like Seaham and Seaton Carew there is only one ticket machine. So if you rock up at the 'wrong" platform you have to go down the bank the up the other bank then down the bank and back up the bank. Bit shit if you have mobility issues. Rail men are not happy about it but bosses are. Apparently the guards don't fine you it revenue officers who prowl the network.

Sorry I forgot to add that if you take the revenue officer out for lunch the fine will be waived.

Fine dining or indigestion ?? You would need a very understanding employer down here in the South-East if you needed to use the train to get to work every day.
