Don’t know if this is a national thing Derwent might be able to tell me as think he is a mason. My daughter was in hospital today fell over in playground got a nice two inch gash on her head pretty deep all sorted now got glued up and think won’t scar that much. The doctor came round with a brand new teddy for her which which she loves and took away the shock of it all. When I looked at tag said donated by the masons. Thought it was a lovely touch but not sure if just in Cambridgeshire

Nice touch, but why are a Hartlepool based funeral directors trying to drum up business so far south?

Was the teddy dressed in funny clothes?

No, I'm not a Mason, never have been and probably never will. I have Masonic friends and it has been suggested to me but I have never been interested. They do a lot of charitable work so it wouldn't surprise me to see gifts for children donated by them.
I would be interested in why anyone would associate me with the Masonic movement as i'm fairly positive I have never mentioned them on this forum. sctatchinghead

I'd be a bit suspicious of secretive organisations using NHS doctors to slip injured kids soft toys on the sly. Either Panorama or Tommy Robinson should look into this, although Tommy will only be keen if the Doctor or the Masons are Muslims.

I don’t want to sound like a twat, but couldn’t they just do it without the identity of the donor on it.....?

I suspect there will be a reason why they want it known that they are the source but apart from the obvious one of positive publicity, I haven't a clue.

I can’t see ‘The Young Masons’ catching on somehow. A bit like when you were at primary school and you played games, no one ever suggested playing accountants.

Thought this thread might have drawn Besslaw out of his lodge. Must be too busy sewing labels on cuddly toys.

Mentioned this before, was asked to join the masons when I was younger, went along not even knowing what it was. Was told I'd have to work for free in their bar and witnessed some weird shit. Didn't go back.

Bresslaw will tell me I'm wrong no doubt, must need my eyes testing.
