I would have the players in for night training. From 20:00 to 06:00.

At work clocking on for 20:00.
20:15 to 20:58 change for training.
21:00 to 00:00 3 hrs of beep test.
00:01 to 01:00 weights, pull ups, power sprints on treadmill at 12% incline.
01:01 to 01:59 break, protein bars and drinks. Night lunch.
02:00 to 04:00 outside training regardless weather. Free Kicks, Corners, running laps etc.
04:05 to 05:00 cool down runs, stretch.
05:05 to 05:45 talking about tactics and team organisation.
05:45 to 06:00 shower.

Keep to a tight schedule do that as a punishment for next 4 Weeks. Sunday night to Friday morning. (Pending games) Treat them like proper workforce. Also get Jobs printed of from Job center and hand them out when they arrive for the tactics talks.

I remember years ago reading something about making the players run up and down the sand dunes at Seaton or Crimdon beach. Maybe a bit of this is just what they need.

Not sure you could make this bunch into lean mean killing machines. Some people respond to intensive training, ie put on muscle , get fitter etc. some just lose weight and or give up. We need players who are fit and strong in the first place, who do things to make themselves fitter and stronger in their own time, true sports professionals who view their body as a temple.

Too right they did - and so did many other teams in the town - I left my guts on the tops of dunes at North Gare on many a pre-season evening!

Football is all namby pamby now, massages and running around training cones and meals cooked for them in the College restaurant. I mean wtf are those elastic bands you see around the players ankles in the pre-match warm up?. To suggest a player runs up sand dunes at Seaton or up the Hart to Haswell walkway to the Castle Eden Inn ( I mean the fookas would moan if the manager said do you fancy a pint, I can picture it, Money at the bar ordering a pint and 20 different variations of fruit juices whilst they played on their mobile phones) or go on an army assault course would be tantamount to bullying and harassment. Anyone suggesting this is called a Dinosaur. Now I'm not saying this is the way, for me a mix of old and new would be ideal. Not just make them better players but better people.

Train on Seaton beach every day except match day and one day off and make them live in the town so they get a feel of what it's like to be Hartlepool and see their fans regularly, live a bit like them and get an identity for Hartlepool United FC so they feel for it more. Oh and get a medium to talk to Brian Clough and ask advice.

This has worked well for me. LOL !

3 to 4 hours of daily practice that assure a very low body fat level (<10%)
Several periods of running for state cardio (25-30 mins)
High intensity and "explosive" sprinting drills (short-period exercises)
Technical drills to enhance skills and ball control
Football tactical exercises to improve understanding with teammates
Gym exercises to develop specific muscles but also his total body strength
Games of 5 a sides to finish the day.
Game of 11 a side once a week , First team v Reserves or Forwards v defenders etc
Occasionally do something different such as a run in the countryside, hire out the local swimming baths, or a 25 mile yomp in the Yorkshire Dales.
At end of the day, take time to relax, get your lass to give you a massage, have sex, read a book on football, watch a football video, go on the Poolie Bunker and see what Horden is saying, have a beer and a little bit of what you fancy, a small bar of chocolate/packet of crisps, life is too short

Meal Frequency - One of the most important factors is how often you eat during the day. There's a recommended period of 2 to 4 hours between small meals/snacks, which could result in around 6 meals per day. Eating less, but eating in a more distributed way during the day, will help your body turning stronger and also keep your metabolism high. You should avoid foods and drinks with lots of sugar (yes, including high energy drinks), since they create blood sugar spikes.

Breakfast - A good night sleep should probably be set as step 1 (around 8 hours of sleep are recommended for the body to properly rest). After that, you should go for food with protein and carbohydrates, such as fruit, whole-grain cereals, eggs or milk. This is one of the most important meals of the day, so pay great attention to what you eat and don't forget to don't let pass more than 2-3 hours before you eat a small snack.

Lunch - First rule about lunch is to don't eat too much food. You'll need to aim to a low-calorie meal, with fruits and lots of vegetables. You can choose from a light pasta dish or a chicken "Caesar" salad, since they are rich in vitamins, proteins and minerals (low in calories).

Dinner - The final meal of the day (not including periodic snacks) should consist in food rich in fibre, proteins, vitamins and carbohydrates. You could pick several dishes for this purpose and as our suggestion, you could go with a chicken breast, green beans, rice and a piece of fruit for dessert. Try to avoid eating dinner near to your bedtime, since that won't help at all.

Thing is, I've seen several of our supposed athletes buying savouries out of Cooplands in Eaglescliffe on many occasions - the only disappointment is that they don't then go into the bookies and The Eagle...........

Jesus Mary and Joseph, lets hope they were vegan sausage rolls.

I saddens me to see a pub closed, I could live with it if it then got knocked down, but when I see it become a Premier or a McColls or a takeaway, I do think, is that all we do now as a country, stuff our faces. I often try to think what I used to eat when I was in my 20s, but I cant remember, it was a drink at every opportunity, when I worked in the post office we used to go for a pint in our 15 min tea break in the Queens Tap opposite Swindon railway station , food was of secondary importance and just something I did , in order to stay alive to have a drink.

Greggs now do a vegan "sausage roll" do Cooplands?

I almost bought one the other day but it looked insipid......went for the corned beef pastie as usual.

Don't think so. Greggs just trialling theirs I think, but apparently they are popular so may keep it on. If that is the case I'm sure Cooplands will follow, may even see them at Pools in 2029/30 season

So are these the reason for our recent defeats?

Money needs to have a serious clear out of most of this spineless squad that he has inherited. He can then be judged on the performances of his own selections. Personally the only players that I would definitely want to keep would be Kioso, Donaldson and Noble.
The best managers 'have an eye' for decent players and I hope and pray that Money falls into that category. I was never aware that Cloughie paid much attention to systems but taking John McGovern from Pools into a European cup winning team was the sign of a genius. Players win matches, not systems imho but I accept that my tactical knowlege hasn't progressed much since the traditional 1235 setup.

How about having a look at the Spennymoor players who blew playoff placed Sutton United away scoring THREE goals, something we haven't managed in normal time all season.

They're part time and on decent money. Would be taking a pay cut to play for us.

Neither, I work for the Railway. Don't get time to think about shit in Peak service. In and out of the capital like a jack in a box. 10hrs shifts 5 days a week. Up at 03:30 for 04:30 start on earliers. Latest finish is 02:30 in bed for 03:45 with 14hrs rest then back in for 04:30 so try to sleep, rest and get an early night. It's a pain in the arse.

Which Railway I’m guessing the Thai-Burma one during the war judging by that training schedule. Are you Japanese?

I can see it after we concede from a corner one of the subs saying to Money “Boss Myles Anderson has fell asleep at the back post there” and Money replying “well yes it was poor marking” only for it to be pointed at that he is actually asleep against the post, snoring, saliva the lot.
