I've never been in the clarendon but the causeway is rubbish. It night be ok for a quick pint on a sunday afternoon but thats about it.
Vibes and north star on the marina are also decent.
I don't go out on my own as its not really the done thing is it?

I'm sure my time will come when places like vibes are a bit too much for me, but at the moment the places i mentioned are about the best there is.

Well, I suppose when you're about 15 people who are 21 seem very old, but as you get older and grow up you realise that age is just a number. Therefore, I don't think people in there 30's are old. Most of my mates and people who I go out drinking with and even people who I date are in there 30's, hitting on 40.
So, no, in answer to your question John.

The stuff that i drink tastes the same everywhere. Vodka and fresh orange doesn't vary much in taste i find. Vibes also do blanc 1664 which is quite nice.
I go to places for atmosphere , a laugh and i'm single so the chance of a quick jump is also appealing.
Adg . You surely don't go to your pubs because they do a good pint..?

Ah but do you accept 'fresh' orange juice made from concentrate?? Or do you insist on a piece of fruit being squeezed??

One has to settle for orange juice from a carton. I think squeezed oranges is going a bit too far for most establishments in this town.

It's certainly where I gave up Snowy.

If you can't demand that your orange juice comes from an orange it's time we installed Orange Cams in these places and passed a raft of legislation. Come the revolution, these carton pouring bastads ((c)RTG) 'll be first up against the wall.

Are you not a voddy + fresh orange drinker Mr Snowy? You should try it. You'll struggle to even find a pub that serves it with 'Juice with bits in' but as long as it's chilled you should have no complaints.....

White House- pretty decent pub, not a bad atmosphere, semi ok music, you don't feel like you're going to get your head kicked in when you look at someone, barmiads are shaggable, food is very nice. Whats the problem?

Woodcutter- OK pub, hasn't overly impressed me the couple of times I've been in there but I'd use it if it was my local

Vibes- very good bar. A great place to take people who are visitng the town.

Causeway- it's a good pub if you're 87 years old but otherwise it's not my cup of tea

How is it camp as phuq? Sometimes I don't want to fill myself with lager and I recover a lot better the next day when i drink shorts.....

You are correct about all the pubs though TPP, I think that he people view pubs depends purely on your age. I don't know you but I would guess that you are also in your mid 20's from what you have said......?

I agree with you Tax Payer on all points apart from one. I like going in Changes, but not I wouldn't have it down as my favourite. At least the larger has improved, it was sh!te when it was The Spot.

I am only late 20s but I think the Causeway is a great pub and it has been my local for years, I have never really been into the shitty wine bars like Yates and that even when I was 18, that is why I probably prefer Rosie O Gradys to Vibes whenever I am on the Marina

At least have vodka and coke and you can then tell people you're on JD and coke!

Early 20's I like to call myself!

I can see where you're coming from with regards to The Causeway and old pubs and stuff.

You do get used to and like your local pubs.

The Station in Seaton had a bad reputation a while back, but I go in there quite often and really like it. I sometimes go in with my Dad, or I regularly go in on my own and know pretty much everyone in there.

Yeah, I've been to the Guiness Brewery twice. The last time I went I tried a different blend. It was called 'Guiness North Star'. Haven't seen it over here yet, but it was loverly. It was 7.5% too!

The Causeway is a great pub with great beer Mr Fens, but i think they're starting to take the piss now with the prices!

They started taking the piss with the prices a few years ago. Beer goes up 1p in the budget, beer goes up 10p in the Causeway. But it is an excellent pint though
