Louis Lang not in the squad? Fingers crossed he's on his way out of Pools.

Wonder if , and would like to think , this has been arranged with the upcoming FA Cup game in mind?.

I’d imagine it’s been arranged because we don’t have any regular reserve team fixtures and we’ve just come out of the most intense period in this division for League games but we still have squad players who need minutes in case they need to be called upon. We don’t even know who we will be playing in the FA Cup game and it’s unlikely any of the squad for this reserve fixture will in the first team starting my eleven for a first team game with so much potential financial jeopardy on it. I’d imagine we’ll see these type of fixtures arranged throughout the season now.

Why would you arrange a reserve team friendly with a Northern League club away on a Northern League pitch in preparation for a first team game against whoever wins a higher ranked team that will be played on the Vic which is a carpet?

I’m almost done with this forum it’s just become surreal

banghead Anything to quibble about. How the hell could we arrange a friendly at this time in the season with a club above NL standard? anyway we're bezzie mates with Shildon, we played them in the summer. I did say I WONDER and I WOULD LIKE TO THINK. How do I know? how do you know It isn't for that reason? I suppose thats why you said I IMAGINE?

You narkiness is becoming tiresome PJ and your counter arguments are getting worse, you need a rest from here.

I do need a rest I agree.

Counter arguments? Narkiness?

Please point out anything that I posted in response that was either, apart from the last line it all looked quote sensible and reasoned to me in response to a suggestion that was yet again a bit bonkers, logical thought obviously has no place here anymore.

Honestly good luck to you all.

Err ! how about a scratching of head emoticom , that was a great start, I only asked a question for gods sake. It would make sense to see the likes of Richardson, Hawkins and Dinanga in action before we play either Workington or Kidsgrove , doesn't matter who, similar standard. Anderson and Hawkes have been involved in the first team lately , so likely they could figure as well.

Anyway we won 2-1 Hawkes and Dinanga scoring

I won't quote Bill Shankly.

PJ is a top poster, its just at times he just has this urge to go in two footed , attempting to put people in their place and make them look stupid rather than having a debate.

Should have organised the friendly with Accrington imo.

PJ, as it happens, I agree with you - Matty Bates explains why the game was arranged in the Mail article. That said, giving yourself a wee break from the Bunker might not be a bad idea. You seem to have got yourself into a position where you're policing the comments of half a dozen posters you regularly disagree with. When you come back, can I suggest you put Monkeybutt on Ignore (he's never gonna leave you alone otherwise) and try a bit of live and let live with the others? Just because someone is wrong all the time doesn't make them a bad person!

Laing looked bad in a bad team and the odd howler did his confidence no good.New arrivals have frozen him out.
He needs a move away and i am sure he can become a competent defender (again?).
Good luck to the lad.

Saying he committed 'the odd howler' is generous - occasionally he looked the part as a central defender but lapses in concentration let him down time and again - and cost us goals. He could be also bullied by an aggressive forward, and there's plenty of them in this league.

And how do you reckon he's been frozen out? He's well behind Davies, Magnay, Kioso and Anderson in terms of ability and has already turned down one chance to move away. He's wasting a wage as long as he stays on Pools' books.

Yes i am perhaps being generous to the lad but it looks like hes on his way. Hes frozen out because of new arrivals who are better than him.
I would hang on to get the right move especially if i was on a decent wage.....wouldn't you?

I see Blair Adams has ended up at South Shields.

Looks like Harrisons signings are making their way to their correct level.

Compare and contrast to the players who Hignett brought in first time around.

Are we sure Harrison signed the players? I'm not convinced he was, at least solely, responsible.

The Fail seems to be stuffed with these adverts and unless you have a NASA standard computer it just handle all the shite and trying to read it is near impossible. I just wonder how long the paper can continue with the competition from the free paper and i understand the owners have some problems.

I still think there is a decent player in Laing somewhere. It does look as though he has passed the point of no return at Pools now though , so I guess we will never find out. He did have plenty of chances though , but in his defence was playing a poor team , with poor central defensive partner when paired with Harrison , at a club on a downward spiral. Could possibly add poor coaching to that lot anarl.

Louis laing was one of the worst defenders to pull on a shirt for pools, he makes harrison look decent in comparison, he is that bad. No surprise these players we had last year are now struggling to find teams anywhere near the football league.

They were equally bad surely? Speaking of Scottie, he's still getting his game at Falkirk but it must be deja vu for him - they've played 8 in the league, lost 7, bottom of the table and already sacked the manager.

Falkirk fans aren't too impressed and it turns out they weren't fans of another Poolie old boy either - James Sharp. One says working out who's the worst player, Sharp or Harrison, is like picking between AIDS or cancer!

Sharp did have that fantastic spell in the second part of the 2000/01 season , when he was immense, can't remember Harrison having such a good run of form , so its Harrison the worst for me out of the two of them.
