Boreham Wood Chairman Danny Hunter will be laying on a free continental breakfast for travelling away supporters to Hartlepool United this Saturday, October 6.

The breakfast will be served from 7am Saturday morning in the bar at Meadow Park, and is a gift from Wood Chairman Hunter ahead of the long trip to Hartlepool United.

It will be a continental breakfast that will include fruit, croissants, teas and coffees, in order to set you up for a day of cheering on the Wood.

Luke Garrard and his men travel to Hartlepool United on Saturday, where they will look to get back to winning ways.

Home supporters at last three home games was less than 500.
Boreham Wood away attendance at Salford was 45 so we can probably expect about the same.
The problem is that this type of fixture is that this does nothing for our finances and i would welcome the return of a north/south type split which would encourage travelling support and save the clubs on travel/accommodation.

good idea in theory but would be harder to get promoted as there would be only one team promoted from the north and south division if only 2 div.2 sides are relagated. be like the old 3rd.division north/south were only the champions went up. for clubs whose only ambition was playing at this level then it is a good idea. barrow or boreham wood its a no contest for me.

That’s a backward step.

The league below ours is regionalised you have to have line somewhere and I think the fifth tier is spot on. Our desire as a club is to return to the football league and every team in the conference should have that goal. Making it North/South would lower standards and mean one promotion place, immediately making our task harder. I don’t want Pools to become a club that is classed as non league in people’s minds the conference has to be as close in terms of standards and facilities to the League as it can be in preparation for it.

pools might have a ground and facilities that are up to league standard but plenty at this level have not. even salford with a decent ground have a really serious problem for parking and harrogate is similar. imagine a sell out at solihull, they could not cope. those who go down south i wonder what their facilities are like. a lot of our opponents for me have grounds and facilities below league standards.

You could relegate 4 from league 2 and promote 2 from north and two from south. How do standards fall when there will be more money around? You could also be imaginative with the play offs. This current arrangement with only one going up is ridiculous with the playoffs being a complete lottery. Even the best clubs can be stuck in this league for years and it would make the link between division 2 and the national league more fluid.

Relegate four clubs out of the League every season? That’s never going to happen in a million years. It took long enough to secure one place then two.

I don’t really see how you’d have more money swilling about and of course standards would be lowered as immediately over half of the clubs in Pools division would not be of National League standard and more of the division would be made up from semi professional clubs. Life’s about progression and evolution not going backwards. I also think they’ve got the play offs right at this level 2nd and 3rd are one home game away from Wembley which are fair reward 6th and 7th have to do it the hard way. We want to count overselves lucky that we weren’t at this level when only the Champions went up.

Makes no difference, theres too many southern clubs. We have to go to Brackley which is near Milton Keynes. Theres other examples. What happens if all the relegated teams from League 2 are southern? It will just go lopsided even more.

Plus Boreham Wood brought 22 to Pools today and Eastleigh 15 the other week but I doubt you get bigger followings from the likes of Curzon Ashton and Leamington in a regionalised division.

I’d also give a special mention to Muir today. His hold up play is brilliant and he looks like an excellent footballer all round. Thought he showed a few touches of class today in an otherwise low quality game and his ball in for Davies’ second was spot on. He’s a real find.

You wouldn't be far off there to be honest. Even Salford were pathetic away from home, no more than 50 of them at our place last season. I remember one southern team bring 2 fans to the arena back in the day. I'm sure it was Histon, another hobby club that ran out of cash eventually.

It amazes me how they got to the Playoff Final last year and had a day out at Wembley, Specially with gates off 500-600 they must have the worst budget in the league and and achieve what they did last season meaning there players must put in 100% every game for their manager, I understand Arsenal are somehow involved with them but do they actually give them a helping hand financially?, I doubt it I could be wrong. Even still great what they done last year, Just imagine if they got promoted to league 2 having gates off less than a 1000 probably 700-800 Has that been heard off In the football league? You can tell what their game plan is, Is to hustle and bussle teams about with there physical strength and put them selves about, Pools coped well with it today, Muir hold up play was second to none bringing other people into the game, I did Feel sorry for Luke James though he didn't stand a chance against their two centre backs they towered him, Still Luke runs his arse off for the team and had a few openings and won a few corners from his hard work, so well done Luke.

There is already a swathe of teams in the FL who have few supporters and take away little travelling support, Fleetwood, Crawley, FGR etc, we don't want anymore watering down the FL for when we return.

Given this current set up of promotion i really cant see Pools getting out of this league for some time. Hopefully we can do it before Raj Singh loses interest or is spent up. This league has quite a few old division 4 teams stuck in it so it does seem home from home. :(
The 22 away fans hopefully enjoyed the breakfast.
