I have just seen the following headline on the BBC Sport website-

Aston Villa 3-3 Preston- Steve Bruce confirms fan threw cabbage.

Surely in a six goal thriller that shouldn’t be the byline, a 0-0 draw and the cabbage is a major talking point but it was 3-3!

Makes no sense on its own but 50% of the article is about Bruce being under pressure and getting abuse. I liked this quote, "...unfortunately, it sums up the society we are in at the moment." I'd love to know exactly how chucking a cabbage at a bloke with cauliflower ears does that but they wander off into a match report soon afterwards.

In my day people took care not to muddle up their brassicas. They'll be lobbing broccoli at him next.

A cabbage swiftly followed by a bullet for Bruce.

How did the 'tosser' manage to get it into the ground, there'll have been a bulge somewhere.

I like Steve Bruce, though his last few jobs have undone any previous success. I don't know why he bothers though, he must be the only manager who actually looks as though he hates the job, most would love. He always looks stressed to fook and about to have a heart attack. I'm sure one day he will. Retire Steve , become a pundit and enjoy what time you have left.
