How about some more dildo threads? They seem popular.

If after beating Eastliegh on Saturday, all posters can offer is ' great win etc' it is better to discuss bread or takeaways! Stating the obvious contributes nothing.

It'll be a shit win if the forwards don't get a brace each. You don't get any points for just winning - if the forwards don't score it is worth fuck all. Jul

The 'League of Funamentalst Spoilt Bastards' will have the vapours on Saturday evening if we don't win by a clear margin of twelve goals, humiliate the opposition and perform various stunning moves to please and entertain them, they the most demanding and knowledgable of 'fans'.
They will consequently have a tantrum if we don't do a stunning blitzkrieg of the league for the rest of the seaon and triumphantly crush all opposition on our March to glory, or maybe not.

Why not? It's surely got to be our turn one day , every other team seems to have done this at some time in their history.

That delightful post from monkeybutt above pretty much in a nutshell encapsulates the decline.

Loid Gammon also needs to refrain from posting when he’s out of his mind on glue and special bru.

The fact we support different teams means we will never agree on everything. There'll be times when we annoy each other but at least we know when things are going too far and we agree to differ. As it should be.

I am afraid that I won't be happy until we are out of this naff league and back where we belong in the Football League so get used to my posts as they won't stop. Too many of you appear to accept the mediocre level that we have sunk to. The manner of our one goal wins suggests to me that we are not approaching the games against the weaker sides with the right mindset. Even the opposition supporters can see what I am getting at. The following is from the Solihull Moors Runboard:

"The game was won by the visitors with possibly the one bit of quality around midway through the second half - a rocket of a shot giving the keeper no chance. Despite their man advantage 'pool seemed happy to contain, rather than go for a killer second. Although, in all honesty, it didn't look like Solihull would ever score, with poor crossing and set-pieces the order of the day.

Bit like Wrexham, I was disappointed with Hartlepool on the pitch. Although they brought a great travelling contingent." Solihull Martyr

It’s fairly arrogant, lazy and ignorant to suggest a team who hadn’t lost at home since November and went into the game 7th and are 8th now just one point behind us one of the weaker teams. Solihull have had a decent level of investment and are targeting promotion, people have been going about Halifax being our first real test away from home Solihull have started better so coupled with the home record they had it was a cracking three points.

Yes the last two home games have been frustrating but if you are looking to pick the bones out of a good away win (who even does that) at least do some research.

Can I point out that no team can claim to be 'back where we belong' that is delusional arrogance.
Teams /clubs are where they are by their own hand and their own failure to produce the goods. We are where we are because we deserve to be there, simple as that.
Doing a football version of The Viz's very own 'Spoilt Bastard' and holding your breath and having a tantrum are just ' I want, I want, I demand' foot stamping and impresses no one, so stop it or you'll make yourself sick.

The main point that I am trying to put over is that despite having a much better squad than last season, we appear to be employing the same strategy that got us out of trouble last season. In order to maintain a playoff position I believe a change to a more positive style of play is needed when playing teams from the lower reaches of the league (or 10 men!). In the coming six weeks we may have to dig deep and defend against better opposition which is fair enough and no-one will be more pleased than me if we are are in the top seven at the end of October.

It still annoys me that we got relegated and to be playing at this level but I’m afraid it’s something you have to accept. You can’t deny we are a conference team. We got less points than 44 other teams and we are here on merit. To not accept it is daft.

I.d enjoy pools winning against any team at any level.

You don’t appear to enjoy us winning and I think that’s a bit sad. It sounds like your fire has gone out for Football and I suggest you take a break from it.

Risky business declaring other people's fires to be out. He might be fanning the flames with blasts of hot air generated by his frustration at Pools not dominating Europe. I reckon Mr Stanley's footy fire is an inferno of rage fuelled by his loathing for the unambitious sheep who accept that Pools might never achieve success at the highest levels of the game.

Ok I’ll rephrase “his posts appear to show the fire has went out”

I’m sure he’s a good lad.

I’d never be annoyed at Winning 1-0 away from home though..

That's a good point. The games v Harrogate, Barrow and Eastleigh we probably would of lost last season , so for that I am truly grateful. There are some encouraging signs, just a bit of a tweek needed here and there. The home form is a bit of grind though and I can see that continuing, and I can understand some peoples frustration.
