With the new season right round the corner i thought it was time for a rally call.

The Pools WILL go up this season............ if we are there to support them.

Granted it has been worse than dyer the last couple of seasons, but now that Harrison's finally fucked off (and taken that stupid barnet with him), we've got a bit more cash behind us thanks to Singhy boy and we've signed a few players - it's looking good.

So get yaselves down for Harrogate and lets get behind them.

PTID!!!!!!!!

Love your optimism Harrisonsbarnet but this is Pools. Fucking the opposition regularly at The Vic and winning occasionally away would be what I would be happy with. As long as there is some fight and desire to play for HUFC. Defeat OK but capitulation never.

Got 25-1 on promotion from BetFred.
Worth a flutter...

As it stand I think we'll finish top half, but we still need another striker or 2 if we want to push further

The odds for promotion with Coral only 8.5/1 was your promotion or winners of league Mr Charco?
Anyway have put a daft wager on it too!

Salford are the one who will try to stop us finishing top. Well worth a bet at 25/1 its a two horse race in my opinion. We really have a fantastic squad this time around

Last season we thought it was a two horse race between us and Tranmere. Macclesfield won the league. I don't think we should be counting our chickens before they hatch.

Fair point. If you look at each club and look at the ins and outs Pools and Salford look by far the best two teams on paper. The proof is in the pudding but looking at the other squads why can we not finish top?

Wrong man in charge I'm afraid, will be amazed if we don't have another season fighting relegation. Some much better teams than us in this league.

I think we will have money troubles around November and various bomb shells left by Cockhead and his cronies surface around December and just stave off relegation with a less than spirited fight.

No, that was last season.....

I don’t really get the negativity, this should be a fresh start.

I heard on Saturday talk of a third investor and extra cash injection to be announced this week.

Bet365 seem normally to give the best odds but will look at Betfred in future.
Coral and the other big high street names normally poor.

Possible money troubles are always lurking in the background at this level but that aside I can't see any reason for pessimism. The current squad looks much better equipped for a decent season in the National League. Admittedly, this time last summer a lot of us got carried away by Harrison's grab-bag of new signings but there's no arguing with the quality of players like Davies and Noble and we all know what Luke James can bring to the side.

From Matty Bates' comments in today's Fail it looks like we're stuck with all 5 of the transfer-listed players (no offers received for any of them) but none of them are guaranteed a place in the starting line up and they'll need to show that they are better players than they looked for most of last season. To be fair, I thought Newton finished the year strongly and wouldn't be surprised to see him fighting for a start.

Fair comment ! I think any pessimism , just shows that some of our supporters have finally woken up and smelt the coffee , as opposed to being deluded as in the past.

Mid table this season, with some good signs , that we can build on and take into the 2019/20 for a real promotion push and I will be happy

Noble is a great signing, James could go either way, Newton like the other signings was a disappointment, but I agree he finished strongly and could be a regular this season, to be fair to last seasons signings, Harrison didnt manage them well, not starting with them at beginning of season, dropping them far too easily and playing them in wrong positions, so Newton may come good, he did it before at this level so why not again, those players were in the main crap, but poor coaching and management couldnt of helped. One player I would of liked to have signed was Scott Barrow from Gateshead. We could still do with an experienced striker up front imo, and an attacking midfielder, but I suppose fans of all clubs always want one more player, even Chelsea, Liverpool etc, but unlike in the premier league, at this level better I think to have a close knit small squad of players than a shedload, so maybe lets see how we get on with what we have.
