Featherstone signs a new 1 year deal with Pools on lower wages, Mill House to be renamed the Neale Cooper Stand...

Just thought I'd mention it.

A bit 'meh' about Featherstone myself. He doesn't help himself by coming back for pre-season looking like the one player in the squad who has a load of extra work to do to get in shape.

He looks at times that he is not a stranger to the odd pork pie.
A well informed gentleman i know spoke to Ronnie Moore once about Featherstone and Ronnie said all he had to do to get him playing well was to get him fit.

After a deliberation Featherstone decided to stay another year and take a
cut in wages, does that mean no one else wanted him?

You might be right - there's been very brief mentions in the local papers and nothing at all so far on the OS, which is taking 'underwhelming news' to a whole new level!

At least Bates had the option of offering him less money - Cassidy, Newton, Donaldson and other transfer listed players are back in training with Pools and will probably have to take a wage cut to go somewhere else. No sign of that happening.

Maybe if he moved clubs he'd struggle to get from training to Verryls during their opening times?

Featherstone officially the new escape goat now then?

Great call about the Millhouse by the club, a fitting tribute to a top man.

Its just a further example of sizeism that plagues the Bunker. :character-spamcan: :character-spamguy:

Well no one had said he's looking lean so he's definitely not player of the century.

Great news on stand renaming but what about Harold Horney? I think a statue to him in corner near the flags watching the game would be fitting

It would make sense to put it behind the corner flag though, especially if it was in view of the family enclosure.

I wonder whether the "BLOG: Harrison Happy With Progress" link on the page is supposed to be a compare and contrast thing, a word of caution, or just over-reliance on artificial intelligence (artificial idiocy?) to choose the headlines.

Featherstone..."it took us 4 or 5 games to get our first win last season".........it was 7 actually, funny how easily it is to cloud the truth.

“I think it took four or five games to get a win last season"

It certainly is easy to cloud the truth

Look we took 2 points from the first 18 at the start of last season, which was nothing short of pathetic with the squad we had. I want to see us hit the ground running this season, not lose our unbeaten home record in the first few games (for a change) and make Victoria Park a proper fortress not paper talk bluster which 'sugarcoats' all the crap that went before.
