According to Sky Sports Pools are close to signing striker Niko Muir from Hendon.

25 year-old-striker, score 39 goals in competitive games last season and had a lot of Football League teams take a look, including QPR

'Sky sources' are usually accurate, so fingers crossed.

Last time I read a Pools story on sky sports we'd just signed Peter Beardsley.

In other news, Jack Baldwin could be on his way to Sunderland. Would Pools benefit from any move or would someone else pocket the sell on?

We are paying a fee for him as well about two weeks after captain guesswork in the Mail told us we would not be paying fees for any players, what do you know the next player in is a for a fee!

According to the Fail the sell on clause for Jack Baldwin only applies if Peterborough sell him for more than the £500,000 they paid Pools. He's likely to go this time for around £200,000...

According to the papers Toto would cost the Mackems around half a million, so they'll likely finish up with Jack. I'd say he's a bargain at the reported asking price.

Toto has more potential to play at a higher level I’d say he has more pace and power, Peterborough have basically decided Baldwin isn’t up to scratch as I said before I read stuff from Posh fans last season when he was get slated for the amount of goals he was costing them, he did suffer a pretty bad injury the season before I wonder if that’s been a factor? He’s gone from being linked to Liverpool to the transfer list in a couple of years.

He's still a long way up the food chain from being released on a free and proven at League One level, which is where Sunderland are these days. Peterborough have supposedly turned down a couple £100k bids from Scottish clubs so they're not that desperate to get rid.

heard from a chester fan that pools are after jason oswell who is out of contract at stockport county. 27 goals last season. he,s part time though being a physio at a chester hospital. sounds good as he could do two jobs in the same game cutting costs of another physio at the club.

Supposedly he doesn't want to leave the North-West. He must like the rain.

That's good news. I'll have some company on the Grand Central. I wonder if he's a card player...

Welcome to the club and best of luck to him. Let's hope he makes the step up to NL standard :)

Could he be the next Jamie Vardy?

Great and we paid a fee for him,now a partner up front maybe Luke James working along side of him. Or does he prefer to work with a big target manlike Cassidy? It is all very well bringing in these players but to get the best out of them you need to play to their strengths and not leave them isolated up front. Most of all they need SERVICE of the ball. Good luck and welcome Nico the hard work starts now.

He looks a very decent player on those clips. Confident on the ball, able to beat a man and makes chances for other people as well as scoring goals.

Different spelling but could it mean more Velvet Underground tunes at the Vic? Maybe All Tomorrow's Parties as run out music?

Scratching my head but I can't think of a single VU song that sounds like Muir - unless it's 'I'll Be Muir Mirror'?

Heroin captures the mood as you leave after a lethargic 1-2 defeat and Ocean would work well for the headland contingent.

He's not in the OS gallery of the return to training photos. It's a long way from London though!
