Hignett would of been manager at the time and Amond said him and Flemming sold the club to him when they made the effort to drive to him. There was no mention of us paying his agent the biggest wedge though!
I just hope the individuals responsible pay for it rather than the club itself which is almost completely made up of different personnel now.

As it's the FA I suspect they won't give a fuck as it's only Hartlepool.

Bit like a free kick but taken from the spot in the box with only the keeper to beat. Very much doubt they'll suggest taking penalties to settle it though.

I hope Coxall is involved and gets some kind of payback.

An FA review of how they allowed Coxhall and Goldberg to pass the fit and proper test would be more helpful to football in general. Why are the agents and players not facing any action?

As chairman he would have to be involved but not sure how the FA can touch him now he's out of football. Maybe realise how dodgy he is and give him a job?

I wonder if this was one of the matters that delayed Raj's takeover!

You wonder how it’s all come to light two years later? But we do know that Police have been investigating Pools finances, maybe that is how it was uncovered. All speculation obviously but stuff like this must go on all the time, why now and why Pools? Maybe it’s one of the things that was flagged as looking a bit dodgy?

Can Pools defence not simply be we didn't gain any advantage from it as we couldn't possibly have been any worse.

When will this Chinese water torture effing end.
I hope Raj has endless amounts of patience and stoicism.

I seem to recall reading somewhere that the club actually requested that the police come in and undertake this investigation?

Different investigation, this is the FA's against the club and individuals and probably more likely to have an outcome. I doubt the FA will differentiate between dodgy employees/owners and the club itself sadly.

Am I the only one struggling to understand why Pools didn't just declare the payments as agents fees? Were the intermediaries used not the legal representatives of the players?

Can somebody explain please?

Nobody asking who the agent is or who their directors are?

I'd be surprised if it wasn't the names who immediately came to mind. Russ Green's name was a slight surprise but not a total shock, not that's he's been found guilty yet.

The only explanations I could think of were either the agents weren't registered with the FA so we couldn't declare them, or Agent's fees count towards your transfer fees for FFP reasons, but consultancy fees don't.

I always wondered how we managed to sign so many players without paying any agents...

Just having a guess here but might these payments be a way of hiding conflicts of interest? If paying them as agents would have broken the rules then paying them as consultants for scouting would have got round that. Another possibility is that somebody at the club wanted to pay his mates some money and used the transfers to do that. Whatever the reasons though the FA will just go ahead and do Pools if the paperwork is wrong. Doubt they'll dig any deeper - they don't appear to care who fleeces clubs.

Its always the club and the fans that suffer in things like this. Those that mismanage the situation get off with it and are allowed to go and get involved in another club.
Bad management put us in the Northern League, not the fans or those who took on the mess left behind by bad chairmen.

Take your pick because theres been a few that have screwed clubs over then moved on to others while still passing the FA's "tests".
