And a big thankyou to Leyton Orient for dragging Torquay back from the brink.

Think Solihull will pull clear. Between us and Barrow, the game at their place a real six pointer. That Gateshead side have some fight in them, down to 10 men for most of the game , not for the first time this season either, and they always seem to at least get a point , sometimes even winning, great mentality.

Just looked at the table there it's looking more likely as every game goes by that we will end up in the shit, Barrow have 2 games in hand on us Solihhull Moors can pull a win out the bag when they want to, We have no consistency at all at the minute, Im dreading making the trip to Fylde on Saturday purely on football terms but I'm looking forward to a good piss up afterwards lol

Fylde could put 4 or 5 into us Saturday or it could be a coupon buster. Will be a big test of whether Bates has or can turn things around. Get beat and I think the original lift a team gets from a new man in charge will evaporate, we need to keep the improvement going and match the workrate with goals and a result.

We simply don’t have a win in us.

Snowy has turned in to Grave Disorder lately. Is it just a case of Dibble mixing up his logons?

The club and local media are over-playing talk of a turnaround in fortunes since Harrison left. On the other hand, the evidence of the last couple of games is encouraging (not forgetting that Bates had only 2 days in charge of team affairs before the terrible Ebbsfleet game, and no coaches to work with).

Avoiding relegation with a squad which has gone from over-large to the bare bones in a few months doesn't look likely - the news that Donnelly, who has only just go fit again, is going to miss 2 more games on N Ireland U-21 duty is like a bad joke at Pools' expense.

Lifting the transfer embargo is essential - shame talk of Singh putting some short-term investment in to see Pools through to the end of the season has gone quiet. Hopefully there's positive developments going on behind the scenes.

Notice this weekend, all the teams in and around us , have winnable games. As difficult as Fylde look on paper, we need to win and certainly can't afford to get beat.

Not sure, probably edge it 1-0, lose that one though or Guiseley and we may as well throw the towel in.

Just had a look at fixture list. Bloody hell things are winding down now. I reckon we need 10 pts , but looking at fixtures and our current form, there are only 3 games were you would fancy us to get any points, so that's only 9. These games at home to Guiseley, Solihull and Torquay. So maybe need another point from somewhere. We know of course football is not that simple. We will probably lose one of those 3 ( or more likely even win one ) and get a surprise win out of the blue at Sutton or Maidstone ( I think we can forget about Tranmere away). The big one for me is still Barrow away. Its the business end of the season, and its not looking good.

This is one of my favourite phrases in football. "We can't afford to lose". So if we lose we're down? Pack up our stuff and go home. Or if we lose do we not just have to win one of the other games this season we're not expecting to?

Someone told me early Feb that West Brom "couldn't afford to lose" against Chelsea. I assume when you're saying that so early in the season you're suggesting they can't lose any game for the rest of the season or they go down.

But we've got very good at overdramatizing things. Woman on the radio this morning talking about the Miami bridge collapse said it had left her "literally speechless". Wonder how many radio interviews she was giving...
