Post subject: From The Hartlepool Post Message Board....
PostPosted: Wed Jan 24, 2018 1:08 pm
Can't let this go without commenting. The Bunker has, for the time being, become a member's only forum due to an unfortunate series of events that led to the resignation of the originator. John McQue had become the target for some awful personal attacks instigated by certain members of the Friends of Hartlepool United group. This in turn stemmed from McQue and others looking unto the background of the charlatans that acquired the football club; these amateur detectives (a derogatory label coined by Nick Loughlin in the Echo) were movers and shakers in the formation of the Supporter's Trust, which still looks like the best option for ensuring the football club has a future. Loughlin is now attempting to rewrite history (after Alistair Rae's job perhaps?), and obscure the fact that was acting as former chairman Gary Coxall's shill both in the press and at a couple of talk-ins with said chancer.
The Facebook group that MK 1 mentions that apparently has all the public support consists mainly of brainless twenty something football hooligans, manipulated by a few older heads into making verbal and physical attacks on Trust members at several away games this season (Dover, South Shields and Dagenham). It was also the Facebook group that attempted to hijack the fantastic fundraising effort instigated online by supporter Rachel Cartwright. It was both interesting and terrifying to see the top table at a recent shambolic meeting at the Steelworks club organised by the Friends of HUFC group, who in effect administrate the Facebook Supporter's Group page. As they discussed the best way to distribute the funds raised by the online appeal, there was a noticeable gleam in the eye of the treasurer of the Friends' Group, whose spouse served 18 months for embezzling £40k from the town's branch of Unison. Pools is a horrible mess at the moment, but there are some great people doing unpaid thankless work behind the scenes of the Trust at great personal cost. Sadly, there are also a number of thick ingrates looking to derail the Trust's efforts through some misguided belief that their disorganized, amateur-hour boy's club is the better safeguard for the future of the club.

I’m not sure the reason for posting this on here but It does no one any good and will only further damage already fragile, if not hostile relations. Let whoever wrote it take responsibility for it and any consequences that could arise. I would suggest it is removed from here.

Hows the self imposed exile going Mr I?! Glad you're still around, don't be beaten by idiots, I'm sure you've dealt with worse.

Agreed. The time for chewing each is over now.

Definitely doesn't look like your writing style.

Familiar though, reckon I've seen it somewhere before.

First time the word "ingrates" has appeared on the Bunker at a guess.

it's been mentioned 3 times before, last time 8/10/13.

Spender used it twice.

Cant imagine he composed that message though.

Two wrongs don’t make a right. I think the treatment of Mr I is very poor (to say the least) considering all the work he’s done on every Pools fans behalf but sometimes rising above it is better in the long run. A lot has gone on, a lot needs putting to bed for now for the sake of the club.

We all have our opinions and are aware of the issues but some of the stuff here is actually factually incorrect. It serves no purpose and as PJ says some things need putting to bed. I know it did not originate on here but that makes no difference. We would be better off if it was not on here.

It includes some fairly below the belt stuff for me as well that serves little purpose.

I haven't been party to the recent developments on the board so I've had to kind of guess what the general flow is.
It looks to me like this kind of discussion is what's being frowned on, so in that perspective I'm going to lock the topic, not delete it. If someone thinks I've got it wrong they can unlock it.
