Typical, Harrison names unchanged team for what is probably first time this season, after arguably worst performance of season. You couldn't make this up. Though I don't think his team selection or formation matters now.

To be fair though , apart from Rodney, this team doesn't look too bad on paper, and would of been one I may of went with at start of season, before Harrisons chopping and changing destroyed the team.

You just know AKINTUNDE is going to score for them :angry-screaming:

Does he even know what a formation is? or means? So Rodney will be left wing again when we have a natural left winger probably not even on the bench! ( Blackford) I can,t be arsed to even go about this team anymore,I am pissed off, totaly Pissed off. :angry-cussingblack:

That crossed my mind, maybe these are the ones with a decent attitude, who want to play, strange how Hawkes is now involved and Oates is the latest to go AWOL.

It seems it's all about going through the motions....as for us, we're swimming through the motions.... of the bowels variety.

Oates injured but Blackford who is a winger and local and would play for pride is left at home banghead

Come on Pools !!!!!

"It's 1-0 to Pools. Michael Woods puts Pools ahead from close range after good work from Jake Cassidy"

Commenting on the game is obviously as much use as pissing on a massive bonfire but Rodney better through the middle second half and atleast the players were trying.
Desperately needed three points but so relieved not to lose.
Nice to see Jeff there as well. Perked everyone up a bit.

Seems like an unnecessary dig at Rodney in the opening post when he was the best of a bad bunch on Saturday.

Thanks for that Seagull, every crumb of comfort is needed at the moment.
I have supported Pools for 51 years and have never felt as eviscerated as I do today. I am clinging to the hope that Sage come to their senses and do not wipe our football club off the face of the earth - but it seems they're a mean-spirited bunch as well as hopeless incompetents.
If we have to start again from the bottom at least we can have hope that, eventually, things may improve. Over the last ten years of disinterested and twattish owners, dreadful managers and spineless, under-performing "players", hope has been locked and barred out of the Victoria Ground/Park.

Just back from the match, and a few thoughts.....

1) Jeff Stelling is a Legend - I think every Pools fan and most of the Stewards must have had a selfie with him, he did it with good grace, a true pro - even though you could tell that the whole behind the scenes situation has him as depressed about it as any of us.

2) The players arrived by coach, not air freight, so some bills at least must have been paid out of recent income.

3) We played for the most part like we were going through the motions. I won't say they weren't trying - but there was little passion, and on occasion it looked like they might be wondering who'd pay for any physio etc should they be injured - for the most part we didn't tackle much, even in our own half where we conceded far too much possession.

4) Woods, Hawkins and the front two did at least give it a go; Featherstone looked off the pace, Deverdics occasionally looked like a footballer but had a frustratingly bad evening when he's capable of so much better - even his dead ball delivery looked perfunctory tonight.

5) There's a good player in Rodney somewhere, but he needs to find some confidence and this team isn't going to give him any. He made some decent runs, even got a reasonable shot away in the first half, but he looks like he doesn't believe in himself - gets pushed off the ball too easily, takes one touch too many, hesitates too long in front of goal. None of this is particularly about ability - it's about his head. He's playing because we've got no option really, but a few more weeks of this and we'll destroy him as a pro....

6) The atmosphere in the away end was grim to say the least. I didn't see the Musgrave statement etc until I got to the ground, but there was no chanting or singing, and the phrase that springs to mind is from Time by Pink Floyd - "Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way".... that really is where we are now.....

Sounded like a dreadful game on the radio. Mind you games at Chester generally are. Possibly one team who are worse than us. Reckon it will be between us, Chester , Barrow and Halifax for that last relegation spot. A point is a point, but in the grand scheme of things its nowhere near enough, its games like this and at Barrow and Halifax that we need to win if we have any chance of staying up.

It was better than Saturday - but Chester were there for the taking. Overall we probably had the better of it, especially in the second half when we got a little more direct and had less of the tippy tappy stuff that gets nowhere.
Felt the players put more into it as well, Cassidy showed plenty of effort, as did Rodney in flashes. Certainly more goalmouth action and a string of corners that came to nothing.
It's a point, should probably have been 3, but it was better than nothing.

Yes Geoff, that's how it came across on the radio, a bit of an improvement, some of it down to attitude, some of it down to better tactics , formation , but most of it I reckon down to playing a side worse than us. Eastleigh Saturday I feel will be an altogether different proposition.
