Harrison by a country mile. Every manager seems to be worse than the last, but this bloke makes Hignett and Cooper look like Alex Ferguson.

Yet again he lost the game by taking off a defender and replacing with an offensive player. He did the same at Ebbsfleet and Dover, I even told him myself face to face, but oh no, Harrison knows best, clueless. Okay in all 3 cases he was looking to get back into the game and going for the win, very noble, but given the circumstances going into yesterdays game, a home draw would of been acceptable , but now the club and its fans are in meltdown.

I don't profess to know it all, but generally a manager puts a side out similar to one the more knowledgeable fans would of picked. I haven't agreed with one of Harrisons starting elevens all season, or many of his formations and certainly not his substitutions. I don't expect our sides to marry up every game, but you would think occasionally the manager and fans would be on the same wavelength. Taking Adams off for Rodney was mental. Rodney shouldnt even be on the fookin bench FFS!.

In Harrison defence he was a bit unfortunate that Richardson had to go off to be replaced by another inept Harrison, who proceeeded to get booked within 10 mins of coming on. :angry-screaming:

At least Simpson got 8 mins, not much chance of getting injured then.

Its that time of year when you start to play teams for a second time, when teams start doing the double over you its a concern.

Now looking at the table ,relegation shold now be a concern. Its telling that the teams we have beaten away are below us and near the bottom, no wins at teams in the top half. Now I dont for one minute think Solihull, Guiseley or Torquay will pull away, but a team like Chester or Barrow have experience of this league and a bit of fight in them to be able to pull away and drag us down into the bottom six. I think Orient could have a decent second part of the season. Its also telling we have Chester, Gateshead, Barrow, Eastleigh , Fylde and Halifax to play away. You wouldnt bet on us beating these teams away at the moment , so these games will be key to whether or not we get dragged into a relegation scrap. It was also noticeable that Eastleigh and Barrow won away at teams near the top yesterday, doing something that we have yet to achieve this season.

With the best of a bad bunch of players likely to leave and worsening morale, we should forget about the play offs and concentrate on stayin up. As things currently stand I can only see this team getting worse not better. It looks like a bottom 6 finish to me, but nothing is impossible, thats assuming we see the season out of course.

When I read the title of the thread my first though was Viv Busby for some reason, my second was Martin Scott. They were garbage with good footballers.

The club is in an absolute state, that goes way beyond the manager. He probably is out of his depth, almost certainly is, but even if he wasn’t the club would not be in any better state.

Don’t you think all our recent managers seem to be managing with 1 hand behind their back?

Always off field issues, owners not supporting them, bills n players not getting paid.

If hignett hadnt lost Fleming last year and all those players last January and had the chance to strengthen I think he could still be here now and doing well.

I seem to remember our defence being awful when Fleming was here but yes our managers have been handicapped by off field issues. Though, other than under IOR in the early years Pools have always had an extent of financial problems.

Dave Jones for me too. The likes of Docherty and Busby were pretty clueless (like the current incumbent) but can't forgive the arrogant tosser for thinking he was too good to be at Pools. Only Bob Moncur comes close in that regard.

Speaking of worst evers, I would have to say that Louis Laing and Scott Harrison are, by a distance, the worst centre back pairing to turn out regularly for Pools in the 45 years I've been watching them.

It always seems to be the case when we have a decent Manager they get sacked, Cooper, Hughes etc. apart from Cloughy.
Apart from Cloughy have any of our Managers ever moved on and been successful ?

Phil Brown could and should have been one of the best managers we have ever had however as was the case with John Hughes, the owners seemingly bottled it when he had the audacity to ask for a half-decent budget. One cannot help but wonder if the club would have ended up in the the ludicrous and desperate position that it currently finds itself in - i.e. the laughing stock of the Bananarama League and facing liquidation in a matter of weeks if either of this pair been in charge for an extended period instead of the cheap option numpties that followed of which Craig Harrison is the worst example.
