Hi folks,

Thought I'd pop in to see how you are adjusting to life in the National League? From a personal perspective, this league appears to be bereft of what little quality it had last season and is definitely the worst standard of the 3 seasons we've had here so far.

After a tough start, you look to be (slowly) turning the corner and I fully expect you to be in the top 7 come May, as from the outside you have some very good players for this level. How's Harrison doing? How are you finding the referees?

Also, quick plug - I wrote an article for my site about Hartlepool being Tranmere's greatest rivals. If you want to take a look, it's here: http://www.deadlysubmarine.co.uk/assets ... ivals.html

Obviously, if that's banned or classed as advertising, I sincerely apologise, I'm just interested in a HUFC perspective.

As for tonight, we were in semi-decent form before Aldershot, but injuries have mounted up and we were apparently awful second half on Saturday, so I can see a HUFC win. Good luck for the rest of the season, even if I did say it was 'personal' in my article. It's a rough division to be in and it only gets tougher if you don't get out first time.

I'm not keen on the "Hi folks" greeting, almost as bad as "Hi guys".

Good read. You don't know you are born.

Our rivals are Crewe and Chester, who like us have never won a football league title. We haven't won a play off final unlike Crewe , and Chester won the Conference title once and appeared in the semi finals of the league cup in 1975 , the season we got to the 4th round, a record for us, in both the League and FA Cup.

Agree, slightly better , though a cigarette paper could separate the two.

Sorry, I was trying to prove I was here in 'peace' and possibly ventured into the 'overly-familiar', David Brent part of the English language.

I don't get the reference to my tea and chicken? You'll have to explain that one I'm afraid.

Thanks for reading the article Horden, appreciate the feedback. I find the way our two clubs have had similar fortunes, especially in the recent decade or so, incredible really.

Sorry fella, I can't remember Tranmere ever diddling Pools out of anything, having particularly obnoxious fans or a noted cheating bastad of a manager, so your team doesn't really register on the rivalry radar.

Carlisle and Mansfield are right up there for me, then there's Huddersfield for stealing our place in this season's Premier League.

Most people drink Yorkshure tea, or tetleys, and some have green tea.

Up here we have chicken tea, drunk out of a fuck the trust mug.

Sounds quite nice actually. Can I dip my kebab in it?

Excellent read that Mr Belmont. I've always thought Birkenhead is Hartlepool's twin town. Very similar in loads of ways on and off the pitch.

Formerly industrial
Shat on by the Tories
Strong sense of community
Good sense of humour
Lots of Irish immigration

I'm glad you've finally mentioned our lack of success, I thought you never would, its also good because I never realised how bad our overall league and cup record is
