Anyone else listen to this podcast?

It's Bob Mortimer and Andy Dawson very loosely based on football but absolutely hilarious. I discovered it about a year ago it's about 50 episodes in now but listen from the beginning as it evolves and keeps getting funnier.

A bit like Bob Mortimer's comedy generally though I know plenty of people who don't get him.

He's recently started doing a Peter Beardsley impression and it honestly has me in bits. I'd give it another go.

Reeves and Mortimer aren't to everyone's taste like, I went to see them last year just before Christmas and thought they were superb.

It's great to see how it's changed - 'Gangs of the EPL' is hilarious

It is, although at times I find it very upsetting and it has me in a right fluffery buffery.

Listened to the first one which told me to go to number 8. Listened for 3 minutes and decided to go to the latest one. Was alright. 6/10.

Current favourite podcast is Reggae Roast with Earl Gateshead. He plays fine reggae for half an hour and then a guest does a mix, people like Dennis Bovell and Adrian Sherwood. Good music but it's a bit odd hearing a bloke who is from Gatehead going... Bless...Yeh Yeh...False leaders leave Babylon and so on.

I love Athletico Mince but wouldn’t bother until about episode 20, I don’t think Andy Dawson is very funny but Bob Mortimer is brilliant (if you like his humour). Gangs of EPL the best part for me

This year I've pretty much started again with all the Ricky Gervais, Stephen Merchant and Karl Pilkington XFM shows and podcasts. The old XFM stuff is comedy gold.

I do a podcast with a properly talented stand-up called Scott Bennett. It gets quite filthy in places, which I think is about right for Bunker types. Here's the latest episode:

Is a properly talented stand up better than a properly untalented sit down? Just asking for a friend like!!!!!!

The magic sponge podcast is back next week

Bullard, rob beckett and Ian smith talking rubbish with pretty average 90s footballers, good crack, often hilarious n a bit slap stick.

The thing I don't get is how the radio show went out on the air on a Saturday afternoon without OFCOM banning it

I'm working my way through them (up to about episode 40), it's one of those things where I think parts of it are absolutely hilarious, other parts I can quite happily ignore - essentially you get the feeling they're doing it to make each other laugh, and the rest of us get to listen in.... The Scottish Songs are enough to make your Brass Hand seize up!

Up to about episode 18 of Athletico Mince, it's absolutely brilliant. What's Steve McLaren doing is my favourite feature so far.

It's literally mental some of the stuff they got away with, think they only had 1 complaint upheld against them which is unbelievable considering the content that used to go out on a Saturday afternoon.

Karl is much more natural in these early shows then some of the podcasts and TV work.

I think it gets much better as well Joe, first 20 or so episodes are just getting going. The sounds from Newcastle Airport/Train station and Sunderland Costco from latest few episodes are brilliant

Not really no.

Its a recorded programme, vocals only, imagine 2 lads sit about n talk footy, for like an hour. Record it, release it to be downloaded by people on smart phones.

One of my favorites is the football ramble, 4 lads, 1 from hartlepool, sit about n talk footy, previews and reviews, it literally started with 2 lads in their kitchen but its grew and grew and they now are pretty credible. Do live shows, books, merch etc

It's handy for any long commutes you might have, can help pass the time in the gym or for someone like yourself who doesnt like music.

Just start by getting the app on your phone.

About 28 episodes deep now, some real laugh out loud moments, Bob's into his Mark Lawrenson and Robson Green stories at the minute.

Don't find Andy Dawson that funny to be completely honest, he has his moments, I usually have to skip through his observation comedy or the secret footballer bits.

Andy Dawson isn’t funny at all in my opinion, but I can deal with that to get all of Bob’s surreal ramblings.

He tends to try and copy Bob’s style but just can’t do it

Yeah, I'm finding that a common theme, with Andy's attempts at the Corbyn stories and the questions. But as you say it's worth persevering to listen to Bob.

I suppose with any double act, there is always the funny one and the straight one. IMHO why I'm enjoying Athletico Mince. Both play off each other.
