No it isn't. Most cross breeding now is deliberate.

And new breeds are created.

always has been without giving em some poncy name. got a dog thats a cross between a doberman and rottweiler but call it a rotty cross without calling her a dobrott or a rottman. probably these new names help the breaders put the prices up for their pups.
