We have been told to remove clubs badge from the logo.

Great isnt it!

I can appreciate that the club will not want to be associated with the voices of the fans on here but surely no harm would be done if we put a disclaimer on here to the effect of "This is an independant site and the board does not reflect views of Hartlepool United FC"

why don't you use one of the old classic logos eg the triangular hart one.
of course the club was always going to knock back any use of the logo it's just what happens now.

It's a good point Mr Muts, I wonder if there's any legal precedents.

Biggest protector of copywrite I know are MacDonalds but I've never known anyone daft to enough to get their trademarks tattoo'd on.

I wonder if Mr Marx has any knowledge of such??

If I remember rightly, tattoos are completely exempt. It's because they're not a literal copy of the image owned by the club - more a drawing - and as such it's equatable to burning a child's scribbled team logo due to theft

Maybe we should have our own ship wheel style logo with the words "Not an IOR Board" as the strap line

I'm surprised it took as long as it did to be honest!

Could go the same route as 23 taxi's. Use the wheel only.

That's a great idea, Splod....in keeping with the whole spirit of the Bunker
Didn't someone say recently (MadJohn?) that the logo changed every 5 minutes anyway? They can't all be copyright surely?

I once made some T shirts with the logo on but instead of the ball I had Andy Capps mug in the middle, and then the late great Mr Hornsey kindly pointed out that whilst he though it a great idea from a marketing point of view, the Daily Mirror might not like it.

He was right

They didn't
