I dont get this article. I understand the bit that he bowled a no ball which stopped him getting his 100 but that no ball meant they lost the match?

So basically a dot ball would have won the match for them? So isnt the bigger issue here that he threw the match and not that he stopped someone getting a 100?? sctatchinghead

Maybe im misreading it?

dont think it was the last ball. He did it to stop the better getting a century.

They managed to chase the score in 7 overs so it didn't effect the result, it was just petty.

That carew team should be ashamed of themselves.

They cant like playing much if they did that.

If I was a player I would never play for them again. The captain should have had his head punched in.

I've seen somebody deliberately bowl 4 wides to a lad on 99.

That one in Wales it's the League who need to look at the rules, that shouldn't be possible. Bonus points should only come into play when you draw or lose.

I agree but it was still appalling sportsmanship.

Infact it's not even that good.

And the club response is disgraceful.

I once kept wicket for the seconds and took 9 catches. A U'13 came in for them as last man and I caught him first ball ( a visible edge). I was ecstatic til the Umpire gave him not out! The young lad was bowled the next ball, so on the way off the field I mentioned to the Umpire re my 10 catches, and a club/league record, to which he replied "Sorry but he was a young lad so I gave him another chance!!!!!!"

I know I wouldn't be happy with it if I was playing but I can think of a few teams who'd do it!!

As someone who still plays, it doesn't surprise me in the slightest. The 'spirit of cricket' is a myth.

Surely they'll alter the rules now as that was a complete farce. I suppose one of the problems is you don't notice these sort of flaws until someone flagrantly abuses the relevant rule. Much like in Brian Rose's infamous declaration in 1979.

I saw a game at Park Drive last season between Hartlepool 3rds and Richmonshire 3rds where, the innings nearly over and around 250 on the board, the Richmond captain declared with one of Hartlepool's bowlers on a hattrick. Tw@t!

I'm sure that the league could find a rule somewhere whereby they could deduct a few points from Seaton for breaching it. If they did, it would be no more than the miserable sods deserve.
