Got to hand it to Pam, she is the most positve thing to happen at Pools over this last year or so.

I know even £5 is too much based on last home game but lets hope the scrappy win leads to an improvement on the pitch supported by a decent crowd.

clappp clappp clappp

Obviously worried about the size of the crowd for Maidstone game, probably be mainly ST holders only ,crowd around 2700. Not sure if a fiver will attract the missing 200 back, in that case the club could lose money on this. The best thing for keeping the 2900 at the Fylde game was winning yesterday. Personally I would of kept prices the same, I think its too early in the season for this sort of offer, and if it becomes commonplace undermines the principal of getting a ST.

Folk twisting of FB because it doesn't reward away fans.

If Pam reads that shyte she must wonder WTF she doing this for.......assuming she doesn't already feel this way.

It's a good thing. Not directly for everyone but the principal and intent behind it are right and sound. However there's always people who'll twist even if you give them a £50 note they'd bleat on that they're no bloody use as no bugger accepts them.

This is positive. I'm concerned about the club losing money rather than making money. Its called business sense  though I trust Pam being a so called successful businesswoman knows more about business than me, only time will tell. Think of the bigger picture PoolieDan and what someone is trying to say , rather than been quick to criticise.

Who knows, I hope so!. Cant see it myself , the 2900 v Fylde was a poor gate, and that was before watching one of the worst games I have ever witnessed in 46 years watching Pools. If I thought I was going to watch a similar game I wouldn't pay a fiver. The fact I don't think a bad a game is possible means that I will have an extra 13 quid in my pocket , for an extra couple of pints or a bet, so I'm not complaining. I just don't want the club shooting themselves in the foot.

This is obviously a good idea if you pay as you go so pools are acknowledging the fact that on the pitch it is not going to plan but we need the income to improve what kind of player we can employ at the club so in reality its a double edged sword.

It surely does make business sense though.
It's the last weekend of the school holidays so chance to be a fair few people make a cheap day out of it.
People who probably wouldn't have bothered after watching Saturday's shit may well just think well it's only a fiver.
The way I see it is, it's much better to get 200 through at a fiver than get no one in at £18/20.
I fancy us to have 4500 in now.

The club are showing common sense the crowd would of been 2800 to 3000 now it will be around 4000 possibly more. The club might even make more than they would of on this game, cracking idea from people who are trying to give a bit back for a horrendous start.

They need to go a step further I reckon. Give the kids a free flag on admission or something, anything to bring back a more positive atmosphere in the ground.

Don't want to knock your intentions but how do flags make a better atmosphere?
The Vic has been dead for years and the only thing that will change that is a team that performs. It would great to get the atmosphere back from the league one days but it's hard for fans to be enthusiastic about what they've been subjected to for years.

That may sound negative but I'm all for the club doing whatever they can to help get fans in. Results and entertainment are the only proven way of doing that though.

Name one manager of a successful team who put it all down to idiots waving flags.
Players create an at atmosphere by winning, not flags.
I got to watch a match, not to have my view of the game ruined by feck wits waving flags in my face.

He clearly wasn't saying that is the sole reason teams do well, obviously you decent players and stuff as well.

But you name one manager who's said that a good atmosphere hasn't significantly helped the team.

Even if we lose but have a good atmosphere at the ground, people are going to want to come back. Who's going to want to pay £20 every week to sit in a crowd of people shouting abuse for 90 minutes?

You've missed the point completely. I don't want to go to the match surrounded by flag waving buffoons. I go to watch the football not to partake in some choreographed tribute.
Flags, rattles, drums, whatever, will not tempt people to come back after defeat for the atmosphere. It may be the case in your world, but I don't live there.

Has this already started? The club obviously likes the lack of noise judging by how many goals we score.

I take the offer of £5 entrance as an apology for the last game. On that basis, I hope people accept it in the spirit it's intended.

If you still have a problem understanding my point I'll return to doing cartoons and do a simple pictograms for you. Happy to educate.

At least with the message boards you have Moderators who can delete stuff ( fairly quickly ) and hand out temporary bans to repeat offenders.

Impossible to monitor something like The Bunker 24/7 but we do try to stop in descending into the sort of personal abuse and constant negativity it sounds like you get on Facebook where it's pretty much a free for all.

That FB page is pure toxic poison. Even I daren't comment on there  I must remember to unlike it, its an embarrassment.

It's got to be a good move, just think how much coin they can make selling chips to all those extra punters with spare change in their pockets.

I think the fact we have 3 home games on 3 consecutive Saturdays may have something to do with it

A great gesture but it's important it doesn't overtake the more important thing to get fans in. Better players.

To clarify.

It's a great gesture no argument.

But let's say we win but win ugly, which according to most is the likely scenario.

Does anyone really think those paying a fiver will pay 20 the following games?

Winning the game doesnt make it any less shite to watch. But watching better player's does.
