Any reccomendations for a decent hotel and a good Indian type restaurant? Preferably close to bars and all within walking distance etc

Cheers

Theres a premier inn over the road from trent uni that has an indian restaurant called memsaab nearby, never been but it is the kind of place that looks good from the outside. If you're staying closer to the castle there's plenty of hotels on maod marian way including a travel lodge and theres a few Indian restaurants along the road too.

I went to Nottingham a few month back and stayed in an absolute shit hole called Grantham Hotel next to Trent Bridge Ground. It stunk and was proper cheap, one of the first things the owner said was that if we wanted to do drugs can we do them in the beer garden only (The beer garden was a single chair on some block paving).

Some decent reviews as well, if you filter to terrible they are fantastic.

Just this morning checked out of the Jury's Inn. Whilst it's not central it 5 mins walk from decent pubs and eateries.

It's clean and decent price

For Indian food try Kayal It's Keralan and very very good. You don't get your usual Indian nosh in there.

Drink in the Canalside. Great pub with huge choice of ales

You're best off in a Premier Inn, some of the independent ones are quite ropey.

I'd second the Kayal, my favourite restaurant ever. Totally different to a normal Indian, loads more flavours.

When are you stopping?

Tons of bars. Right in the thick of it there. I'm away then otherwise I would have given you a guided tour.

Hour booked in a flotation tank too

Think Mr Bresslaw means the Canalhouse. Not many pubs have a barge or two moored inside them.

If you want a quiet drink in a decent pub , away from the riff raff, try Derby Road, Canning Circus area, Organ Grinder, Falcon, Hand & Heart. Vat & Fiddle behind railway station is a good pub as well.

Aye. That's the one. Amazing choice of beers. The Piano and Pitcher is worth seeing too. The ale is fine but not often set inside a church

Mercure seems a good shout to be honest. The lace market is good for shopping if dragged too. I would avoid major oak and thurston(?) Pubs around there though as theyre pretty rough. Head towards the corner house in the city centre and youll find plenty of bars and restaurants, the victoria shopping centre has a decent food court too. You wont struggle for choice

Is a flotation tank one of those things that's like coffin filled with a bit of water?

Not my idea of fun that like!

I had a mate who worked in a leisure centre that had flotation tanks and he reckoned they hardly ever cleaned them out or changed the fluid because it was expensive. Full of other people's pubes, soaked off cling-ons and piss.

Anyway, have a good soak Tree.

What are most self respecting gadgies going to do locked in a tank for an hour as well?

So I'm fairly sure you can add spunk to that list, loads of spunk.

Enjoy though Tree.

Kayal was disappointing. 70 minutes for starter to arrive and 2 hours 20 for main course. Also seated by the door so both sat there shivering.

Food was well cooked but both were so cold and overly hungry we didn't enjoy it too much. Got some free drinks and 20% off like.

Floatation tank was fucking amazing and no I didn't have a wank in it.
