1 more sleep!

It's the most excited I've been about a season for years. Feels like we've got our club back. Cheers Pam and the Trust!

Very! As others have said, left The Vic last day of the season heartbroken and literally thought "Fuck This".

BUT...Coxall buggering off, Trust stuff, Pam, New Shop, New Shirts, New Order, Blue Order, Bertie Mee, Bill Shank-Lee, F.D.E........HUFC....

Yeah, bring it on.

Nervous. I haven't a clue what the season holds. Imagine we'll do well... but this is Pools we are talking about.

Just some semi regular winning would be nice

This is the first time I've looked forward to a season for years. So called 'Great Escapes' and hanging around the bottom of the division like chavs outside a parade of shops, is a sign of failure and an aceeptance of failure.
There's been a much needed clear out and I feel that there's a more professional feel about the place and has it been needed.

Please ...... no whining if we don't win our first ten games by cricket scores.

Great escape is a bit of a contradiction. Might be great that you've escaped but it's very shit to be there in the first place.

In addition to ElvisC's list I'd add the new manager. Talks a lot of sense and has a good aura about him. For a second choice I'm glad we got him rather than the other guy!

If we could just have one of those mid-season flirting-with-the-play-offs moments that lasts about two weeks it would still be a 300% improvement over what we've become used to.
The last time our season didn't die before September was out was in February 2014 when we reached a giddy 8th (but still managed to finish 19th).
The last really comfortable finish we had to a season was 2011/2012, the Nobby Solano season. That was also the last one in which we entirely evaded the bottom four.

I'm just hoping that we don't get the usual crap on here if things don't go our way tomorrow...

Even down in Kent excited, just painting my football rattle and getting my cloth cap ready for these southerners in the national league. We need a sense of perspective this is a physically hard league with agricultural defending teams will have 2 farm labourer types all over Amond and a second striker, if we play one. Lot of interest here in Kent in National League. There will be a surprise team watch out!
If fans stay patient and vocal withplayers giving100% we can do well.

Just comment on the game we see not that we're gonna run away with the league or get relegated, that's all that's required.

Thanks :)

Always am. Always optimistic but this time I'm right to be. I'm totally convinced that we'll make the play-offs this season.

Don't be fookin stupid. I just cant stand muppets who bang on about season after season , about how well we are going to do , and try to isolate the few others ( usually the ones who call it correctly ) with a different point of view. When things don't go well, the same excuses get trotted out season after season, before around February time, they concede that maybe we aren't going to win the title or get promotion. Thankfully because we have stepped down a league, this season may be more successful than normal, we certainly need to get off to a good start tomorrow , if we want to make a quick return to the Football League.

Who are these positive for positive sake/deluded types?

Seriously who are they? I don't think any post across any of the forums regarding the team, unless you're on about that glue sniffing induced 'Positive Poolies' Facebook page that was set up at the height of all the nonsense last season while a charlatan cockney chancer was threatening our very existence and removing our near century long status in the Football League. Aye lets be dead positive and ignore what was happening because of personal agendas. I digress

You've posted loads of stuff that isn't right over the years reams of it, you aren't always right if you think you are you are the most deluded poster. At the end the day less teams have good seasons than the ones have poor ones. Your default position of twist on 21/glass half empty/suicide watch is the easiest one to take, I've noticed if a player doesn't sign for us we always should have signed him but the players we do sign aren't tall enough or even full backs don't score enough. It's far easier to find negatives. I prefer to be a positive person, I'd rather have a bit of hope, that doesn't make me deluded but at the end of the day it's only a game of football.

We might look decent tomorrow and not quite get the result we want, and positives could be taken from that, we've been promoted and had great seasons in fairly recent times when that has been the case.

There'll always be some people optimistic about every season, but this season feels different and most people agree.
It isn't just about on the pitch either, the club seems to have been pulled into some sort of shape at long last and you have to applaud that after our near death experience last season.
However, if we go into a season with your attitude what's the point? We have every reason to confident but respectful of our situation.
Any club, team or fans who approached a season like you are, might as well call it a day in August.
It's not hard to see you have that "I'll believe it when it happens" mindset and expecting the worst till the very end.
I'll bet you'll be bitterly disappointed if we actually do achieve something.
No one said we'd win anything, just that for a change things looked a lot brighter for us. If you can't appreciate that, take your dark cloud of doom elsewhere.
There!!!

Why would anyone take pleasure from us not winning.
Would of thought it would be the last thing HORDEN wants given the ammount of games hes attented in his lifetime.

anyway im looking forward to a new era were we as fans feel like fans again instead of customers to dodgy owners.
Fair play to Pam n Co who for me have laid the foundations in such a short space of time for an instant return to were we belong.

Yes i am well looking forward to todays game and the rest off the season.

 this is exactly the type of comment I was referring to Mr Horden but we've got it BEFORE the game, well played sir, get it out of the way early. I like your style :)

(hmmm, this might read either as meant - lighthearted piss take - or really patronising....obviously it's the former)

The general consensus among fans of other clubs, writers for the National League paper etc who know what their league is about and know a lot of the players we have signed is that Pools are contenders for the Play Offs. Here's another one:

http://www.solihullmoors.vitalfootball. ... p?a=583814

For all I know, they were saying similar things about York's chances last season, but personally I don't think there's a cat in hell's chance that we will struggle like York did and yes, aiming for the Play Offs looks realistic.

Hopefully Harrison's team will give home fans something to shout about and we can make the Vic an intimidating place to come. From the sound of things a lot of the smaller teams will be driving up on the morning of the game - be nice if Dover are one of them!

For me it's pretty simple, we have a professional club to support, it seems to be a fresh start behind the scenes that we wanted, only 1 or 2 clubs can be successful each season, so being competitive and entertaining is all we should ask I think.

We have no god given right to piss this league so we should be pleased to see good signs and some decent performances
