Whats happening with the trialists ? no appearances for the Sunderland game

also notice that Obeng hasn't featured on the team sheet wonder if we sacked him off after the Billy town game

would like Mondal to be given a chance, seems like a handful and would be a good impact player from the bench

Obeng announced his retirement on twitter a few days after the Billingham game

Mondal and Risborough were both on the bench against Sunderland. Spent a lot of time warming up. Obeng has retired from football. The others have been let go I assume.

Would expect both Mondal and Risborough to be given full games on Saturday and a decision made after that.

Very honest of him. They usually retire , but don't tell anyone, sign a 3 year contract and steal a wage off the club, no names mentioned of course.

Or retire to pursue a career outside of football then go and play for another club.

He will have ran about a bit, fell over the ball a bit, looked like a headless chicken, had no end product and chose the wrong option on numerous occasions.

Hth.

Today was my first look at any of the new squad (and first friendly in yonks). Pools should have been 3 up at half time but were poor second half. A lot of that was down to a half time substitution. Luke George started at centre back and looked very comfortable for 45 minutes, but the young lad who came on in his place (Owen) gave away an early penalty and had a bit of a mare all round.

Other than that, I thought Cassidy looked decent - we could have done with him last season never mind this. Featherstone looked like he spent his convalescence on the jam rolly polly diet but did alright, as did Franks first half. Maloney was the best of the trialists by a distance. Sadiki is a big unit but had a couple of Toto moments. Devante Rodney got on towards the end and looked OK, just needs to get match fit now.
