Someone mentioned on another thread about the abuse Jonathan Franks got from the infamous Mill House Moaners.
It got me thinking of some of the wisecracks/abuse I have heard down the years , particularly on the Mill House terrace. Most were horrendous and offensive , but some even had the recipients/victims shaking their heads in disbelief and laughing to themselves.

One I remember from a Mill House moaner in a game v Southend in the late nineties

" You're fookin sh*t ROGET ! " ... then a pause of about 20 seconds ...... " And your fookin book is shit as well "

The victim Southend's Leo Roget , a big dirty ba*stard of a player and a lifelong friend of the Mill House terrace

A woman in the Millhouse seats during a league cup game vs Arsenal shouted "fucking hell ref you're as sharp as my lads bell end"
That was classy

That was Barnie Pete (former regular contributor to this very board) I was stood beside him at the time. He often had a bit of banter with opposition players, usually involving calling them fuckwits or other colourful phrases.

Someone shouting at Ronnie Jepson (playing for Eceter rather than Huddersfield I think) that he looked like Joe Allon (he did) and him patting his stomach as if he wasn't as fat as Joe (he wasn't). Can't remember where Joe was at the time, Lincoln or Port Vale or something. Also Rohet Freestone, Swansea keeper being pelted with sweets and deliberately eating some.

Best thing I've heard was when we were thrapping Grimsby at Blundell Park. Formerly acrobatic but now seized up winger Peter Beagrie got substituted, and as he was walking off, Elvis pipes up with "You're not doing fukking somersaults now are yer, yer owld cuunnt!"

I was at a tinpot trophy game in Preston on a Tuesday night a few years ago and there were around 50 poolies there. We sang 'Preston give us a song...etc' So 9000 Preston fans obliged, after which we all sang 'You only sing when we tell you, sing when we tell you...' Loved that, especially as my missus is a Preston fan and we won 2-1.

I don't remember what game or player it was but I couldn't stop laughing in the millhouse about 2002 and somebody shouted 'for fuck sake, think mcfly, Think!!!! I found that very amusing. I also seem to recall a player at donny getting a pie thrown at him from a corner, he picked it up and had a bite!!.

When the dugouts were on the Millhouse side in the mid 90s, can't remember who we were playing, but one of the opposition got away with something like a foul or throw in that shouldn't have been.

Cue loads of abuse from the Millhousers, including the really accurate comment 'just cos you look like Mick Johnson from Brookside', which had all their bench laughing as well as the terrace.

Another good memory is Lincoln away about 20 years ago, I think it was the first time they'd got the air raid siren out. They would crank it up if they won a corner or free kick, which they did a lot of early in the game.

We went 1-0 up, and after the celebrations had died down, several hundred Poolies all made an air raid siren noise. Beautiful.

I remember someone shouting at Roy Hogan, albeit on one of his bad days, "bloody hell Hogan the QE2 turns quicker than you", I also remember someone shouting to a very tall centre half for the oppo' " hey mate can you pop round later and paint our ceiling"

We were beating Wrexham 5-0 at theirs, Andy Dibble in goal. One guy shouts 'what time is it?' His mate shouts back 'Five past Dibble!'

Remember a game where someone made this comment about a veteran footballer on the opposition bench...

"That's the problem with Fords. They only come in black."

Now I could only see the back of the policeman stood next to the bench, but the way his shoulders shaked in a manner that meant he found it rather amusing.

Also remember an away game at York and Alan fettis was in goal for them. I think he came out as gay in the press that week and I've never heard so many different names for a gay man being shouted at the poor bloke!.It was very funny tho.

Arsenal fans were arriving late for a Milk Cup type game and the pools fans started chanting one nil one nil.
In fact it was 0-0 but the Arsenal fans had a laugh!!!

In order to entertain ourselves at games for the past few seasons the group around us count the number of light out in the floodlights and hold a gull identification class. However our favourite is to count the number of balls being kicked (or headed....can you believe it!) out of the ground. We then calculate that if this continues to the end of the game how many balls the club will have lost and the approximate cost.
In one game we "lost" 3 balls in the first 9 minutes meaning it would be 30 lost by the end of the game.........all around were pissing themselves laughing.I think the National League will give us even more entertainment!!!!!!!

One speedy Huddersfield winger went past our full back like it wasnt there.
This old gadgie with a flat cap and a rolly shouted "get him in shackles"

Who was the keeper whose drink bottle got knocked into the town end by a wayward shot and flung back on once a kid had pissed in it?

This thread reminds me of racism that used to go on. Especially towards Fortune West and a striker called 'White'. Can't remember who he played for though or his first name but think he was always in the bottom leagues.

Was it Devon white from Bristol rovers? Fortune West used to get a shit load of grief, would always score past us though! Kevin Francis was another one who got a lot of verbals thrown at him.

Thank fook those days are long gone. Utterly cringeworthy. None of it was funny either.

Always enjoyed "We are sailing" as Rod the Steward wandered past....

One time when Houchen was playing against us (Port Vale?) "You're useless without Bob Newton!"

On discovering most of Chester's ground was actually in Wales, "Ey Lads, We're in Europe again!"

Somewhat cringey but you had to admire how he responded - I think it was the Gillingham Keeper, Roger Lim, whose stated ambition was to play for China in a World Cup, was getting the "Slanty eyes" chant, and started conducting it with his hands, back to us.... it got a cheer and then stopped for the rest of the game, for which I at least was thankful....
