How can it be that Jacob Rees-Mogg's in laws be given a grant of £7.6 million smackers for refurbishing their gaff?

His in-laws don't own it, and haven't done since 1948. It's owned by a charity.

Rees-Mogg is the son of William Rees-Mogg, a former editor of The Times newspaper and life peer who died in 2012, and his wife Gillian Shakespeare Morris.[7] He has three sisters and a brother.[7] One of his sisters, Annunziata, is a journalist, also a Conservative Party member, and former parliamentary candidate. A member of an established Somerset family of coal mine owners,[8] Rees-Mogg was born in Hammersmith, London, and grew up in Ston Easton, Somerset.
Rees-Mogg was educated at Eton College and subsequently read History at Trinity College, Oxford.[9] He became president of the Oxford University Conservative Association and was a member and frequent debater at the Oxford Union, where he was elected Librarian.[10][11]

Rees-Mogg worked in the City of London in the Global Emerging Markets division of Lloyd George Management[12] before setting up his own company, Somerset Capital Management, in 2007

So how does the bedroom tax apply in this case then, 350ish rooms. In these days of austerity, how spending £7.6 million on rooms, not being used be justified?

Because he is a tory twat. And a seriously upper class one.

But yet some people like to make excuses for them. Almost like they enjoy being ruled by them.

If I couldn't afford to maintain my house, are you telling me I can get a charity to buy it off me, let me continue to live there, and they'll maintain it? Cool, where do I sign up? What, you say it's only for the aristocracy? Look at the title of the thread; the fact they don't own it doesn't change a thing.

Like I said, some people, depsite being absolutely working class, have a bizarre need to defend the tory elite. Almost like they would bow down in their presence, like they were some greater being.

I would like to punch this particular tory toff right between the eyes.

if that's aimed at me, can I draw your attention to the really annoying point that I was only stating a fact about the original post. I know you don't give a fuck about actual facts in your quest to play agent provocateur, but there you go.

Can I draw your attention to fat mans post. Or answer this.

Do you know of any working class man that ends up living in a place like that.

Do you think he got there by accident.

It was quoted that he used one of his 2 Bentleys but later he said it was only a Mercedes. Regarding his six sproggs, the latest being Sixtus Dominic Biniface Christopher he says having lots of kids is hard work for the family nanny!!!! How can she possibly find the time for all the nannying and canvassing. She probably will be very well paid though.
