One of the circuit breakers in the fuse box in my house has just tripped and when I try to reset it it makes a buzzing noise and trips again....it's for the lights in the bathroom.

I'm fucking useless with electrics...anyone have any idea what is buggered?

Sounds like you have a permanant short on that fuse line. It will probably need each iten on the line disconnecting till the trip resets. Sounds like a job for a sparky i,m afraid.

Don't know what weather's like up there, but we've had rain all day down here. Maybe water getting in electrics somewhere?

Is the breaker only for the lights in the bathroom? The reason I ask is sometimes if a bulb goes it can go short circuit, this could be elsewhere outside the bathroom but on the same circuit.

No, it's for the bathroom and three bedrooms...

Just use candles Mr Shilts, probably cheaper or more expensive in the long run! :hand:

Thanks Mr Deluded but I don't think it would be worth his while to travel 2 1/2 hours to my house :)

(assuming you're in the Hartlepool area of course...)

Got a local chap in the house at the minute, he's found where the problem is and is currently trying to sort.....but doesn't think he'll have time to sort it today....which sounds a bit ominous to me :(

Just in case anyone was interested

That was your problem Mr Shilts, and why it was so expensive. Fancy buying a house with a wire in the space for the roof. Personally I'd have bought a house with a roof.

DON'T FUCK ABOUT, GET SOMEONE IN!
I was working on a seawater blow down valve and got a belt, luckily for me it was on a timer sequence, however, while I didn't get frazzled, I went off like a firework and ended up 20 metres away on the deck soaking wet.
