I had a smashing day, although I was one of 3 blokes dressed as nuns rather than penguins.

Call me a miserable bastard, but I could not bring myself to applaud the players when they came over after the final whistle. I applauded the result, but when Luscombe et al waddled over I wanted to pelt the majority of them with rotten tomatoes and cabbage leaves.

Harsh on the performers (Flinders, James, Baldwin etc) and the triers (Sweeney, Holden etc) but they simply did not deserve it. I felt exactly the same at Bristol Rovers a few years ago, when results elsewhere kept us up rather than the absolutely pathetic shift the majority of them put in that day.

Oh and the FDE, superb again  clappp It's brilliant how big a part nationally Pools become about the last day of the season.

This 'whale uncontrollably'.......I've heard of killer whales, sperm whales, even seen the location where Moby Dick was filmed, but never seen a 'whale uncontrollably'....where can I see one...?
As regards the last day fancy dress being a big national feature.... I'd rather the attention was for achieving something on the pitch. It's an amusing adjunct to the business on thr field, some people appear to regard it as the A feature.

I genuinely cant face another season of seeing the same old not nice people on the payroll, I really cant, yet it seems there are a body of people now trying to pass the season off as a success and the players as winners.

The reality is that the vast majority of them, including the coaches, have a very long record of not winning a fucking thing.

Aye, well said on all of it.

The quoted bit above, funnily enough thinking about it now this season was the first for about 20-odd years that I've not bothered with a single away game either. The sadder thing is that I've just realised it now on reading your post as they got me that disinterested with their crap attitudes and inept performances that bothering to trawl to an away game just didn't even cross my mind and if there is too much of the same old shit being churned out next season I'm actually worried that this may transfer to home games too although I hope that it doesn't.

Hughes wants to keep the majority of players?
Well now that could be as few as 12 or as many as 22 of the 23 we've used this season, so the statement is pretty meaningless.

I bet Humps was thankful The Bunker was down after that Brentford game!! My God he was abysmal.

I missed the warm up but I bet he got caught on the ball every time he touched it as well!

Humphreys literally made me laugh during that game. Unfortunately Baldwin, Flinders and Luke James all played very well.

i watched the brentford game in the hillcarter and i could see parmo at the bar, he was seething with humphreys n especially his attempt to win the ball for the brentford goal.

Cant blame him, he was awful. N walton was terrible too. Cant see the fuss over him, just slugs about.

Walton has been absolutely shocking in the latter part of the season, worse than he was at the start when he was getting booed, but he did a fist pump against Notts County which is enough apparently to change people's opinions 360!

Ponderous, sloth like and dirty (he really should have been sent off) summed up his performance against Brentford. Next year is a massive season for him, another one like this last one and he'll be on the football scrap heap aged 25.

Humphreys making a good effort to run away from the ball was my highlight of the game.

The more I hear of Hughes's nonsense the more I want him to go. We have an atrocious set of players, truly awful and yet this numpty ginger scotch get wants to keep them.

What this close season needs is what its needed for five years; a clear the decks issuing of P45's. What we will get is more of the same; a couple out, a couple in and another season of relegation. If the core of this squad is not chased then I'm putting money on relegation next season.

Really? Iv never heard you mention that before.

Was probably Humps worst performance against Brentford. Getting the ball to his feet in 3 yards of space and constantly not having the time to get a pass away was an embarrasment.

Didnt think Baldwin did too much mind which I was happy about.

Agreed. There needs to be a clear out. However when Hughes said he wanted to bring in 8 players the bat phone in Hodcroft's office must have bounced of his desk. Given that Hodcroft is so tight with money there may be only enough paper for one or two new contracts.

the club will get what it deserves based on its actions/inactions... sadly past experience tells us it means that the fans will get what they most certainly do NOT deserve!!!!!!

The team were shit but I really enjoyed the Crawley game.

More about the fans and the never say die thing than owt else.

Evans mams a Milf
If Evan scores we're doing his mam
I believe I can fly
If Ritchie scores we're on the pitch

Just the usual crowd banter, a release to have a laugh rather than moan about the shit on the pitch.

Pools fans are the club.

And I thought resurrecting old threads was pointless ... Oh I forgot it depends who's doing the resurrecting...Mind you PJ's thoughts on Walton are quite prophetic..

Resurrecting a decent banter thread is fine, as its just for a laugh. Like kev's chair or POK.

The way you do it is sad as fuck.

I think the fact its one of the best threads on the bunker means its ok as oppose to you trying to score points (and failing each time) by dragging up old threads.

Hi
I put the message on the Bunker last year to find out the fancy dress for Crawley. I turned up at a tube station in London having met up with 7 of my family all dressed up as penguins (if I was clever enough I would put photo evidence on here) still not sure if we would be alone with 200 other Pools fans dressed differently.
What a great day out, togetherness on the terraces, togetherness in the pubs, togetherness in the pedestrian underpass.
I am not one of the elite, I am a Pools fan, a 53 year old female from Stockton, who has a Pools flag hanging from a flag pole outside my back door, a Pools shirt on the kitchen wall and a wonderful old Pools turnstile in the garden. I have been watching and loving Pools since I moved to the North East in 1975.
So come on folks, grow up, let's be upfront about the fancy dress and get as many of us to Plymouth as possible and show that as fans we are united and support HARTLEPOOL UNITED the team we all love. It might make all the difference!!!!!

Now a 56-year-old female, possibly still from Stockton. Position of flag pole unknown.
