Not the greatest I must say, apart from Wigan, no one of our own standard or above, would of like to have seen a home game v a League 2 side and an away game at a Scottish League 1 side or even away at a National League side. Due to all the off the field shenanigans, it was probably a case of what was left, it does shows how far we have fallen , when probably the first team will be fielded at Dunston rather than a reserve/fringe players.

No way will I be paying to watch an U23 team, don't see the point at all in a game like that. Whitley Bay away could be a good day out, though again , week before season starts , opposition should be much stronger.

I think I've only ever been to one pre-season friendly but am planning to go to Whitley Bay with a mate who is a fan of theirs.

Now expect to be watching a Pools scratch 11 as the 1st team will be having a practice match with Borer U-23s on the same day.

Just noticed that, reckon it will be 2 teams of equal strength, some playing at the Vic some at Whitley Bay. Maybe footballers playing at the Vic and soft sh*tes who need toughening up at Whitley. Crap imo, should be team that Harrison intends to start season with playing in one game, not split. It may end up like that but I have my doubts. As I said in another thread, poor pre-season schedule, probably because of off the field problems, no manager etc, but may come back to haunt us. Need to hit the ground running or at least know what to expect, don't think any of these games, will give us much of an idea in that respect, unless of course we lose them all
