FIRST TIME POSTER -
Thought this was worth sharing though ....

I am currently on a course down south with a few physios from top clubs from around the country. Anyway my accent soon stood out and I got chatting to a few guys who work in and around L1 & L2 clubs. They had very good things to say about pools and also new boss Craig, whilst speaking another bloke popped his head into the conversation and introduced himself as a former scout (been offered a football director position which is still in negotiating stage). Didn’t say which club he was from but just mentioned a few of our players who he had been to see over the last 2 seasons. One of which being Walker… reckons he is hot property on the youth stage in the lower divisions, wolves are still top contenders for his signature and always have been. He talked about Thomas for a little while and spoke of managers that rated him as being premier league level give or take a few years. Cant see it happening at Sheff united unless he plays week in week out.
Blackford was another lad he had been to see and reckons Pools have the best player to come out of our academy ever if we manage to keep hold of him and nurture him into the right player. I cant recall us farming out any decent youth players since Boyd to be honest so he may have a point with that one. Jake Orell was also scouted and he couldn’t believe pools had released him when I told him. Carson was heavily linked with a championship club so he told me, I said I hadn’t heard the rumours so couldn’t comment on that, interesting he didn’t let on which club it was though.

Then the big one… Amond, a face im sure we would all love to see staying at the Vic next season and helping us out the NL first time. He told me with confidence that teams, including the one he had came from had been watching him closely since his move to Pools to see how he would adapt in this league. Offers are on the table as most clubs where very impressed by the Irishman. Can see this guy leaving for a league one club where his exact words. I asked if anyone else had been on the radar of any league clubs who we know have not already left and his answer was no, reckons Michael Woods would attract a lot of interest if he had lived upto his expectations, no brainer in my eyes as if he had lived upto expectations he wouldn’t be plying his trade at pools and more than likely still be at premiership level or at least championship.
Devante Rodney is a kid we should be keeping also, one guy knows him from his Sheff Wed Days and said give the lad some time and he will be a fantastic player. Personally going off the last game of the season he will rip this league apart if he shows the same determination he did on the final day. If Craig can keep him hungry and motivated with game time then I think we have a player on our hands.

Few other things worth mentioning from yesterday, Craig Harrison and Gary Monk have already being speaking and loanee players was mentioned. Heard this from a very good source. Pools are looking to add to the squad this week or early next,(at time of posting this the news on Donaldson had not broken) another player from a non-league club. My source reckons it’s a left back, highly experienced. Also we have been looking at a few young lads who have been released by L2 clubs, Craig is wanting them on trial first before he makes his decision as these players have come recommended rather than off the supposed list drawn up by the scouts and Craigs predecessors. Lad here thinks we are going to bring in Brobbel and Fewster. Clearly just a guess I reckon based on current climate.

Anyways ill do some more digging and talking on todays lunch break and find out anything more as the guest speaker today is supposed to be a former League 2 manager who knows pools all too well. (Danny Wilson)

Could that national league left back be York's Sean Newton? Their player of the year last year and followed Harrison on Twitter recently..

Same bloke who told me this, mentioned yesterday that another signing was imminent .. then today we get Donaldson so lets see if he is on the money again with the LB.... don't know who it is like he never mentioned names, just said Craig was looking at the defence and he knows what needs reinforcements and who they are.

Just had 2 slices of Toast. Had to use white bread as I've ran out of 50/50 bread. Washed it down with a cup of 100% Colombian Kenco coffee.

Brunch will be Pizza leftovers, and lunch, probably a Pulled Pork bun from the Smokehouse.

No plans to meet any agents, scouts or footballers.

For lunch I'm having a BLT baguette.

Have to say while the B, the L and especially the T are a treat, the baguette is very chewy.

I'm aware this is often par for the course for baguettes, I wasn't expecting the familiar texture of Kingsmill, but this unexpectedly high level of required mastication is really making me wish I'd opted for the pasta pot.

Six on ten.

Pulled pork sounds too much like a euphemism for me. I'm having a nun's crotch with garlic croutons.

That sounds nice as long as it's not too salty.
