Recommendations for a decent Butchers in Hartlepool, not Supermarkets please. I am bringing a friend from abroad and where they live the quality and the price of meat is far superior than any of the local Supermarkets.

Roy Blyth is decent at the Fens or the one at Throston next to the Tesco.

I went into the one at throston and he had 2 pieces of fillet on the ceiling, he said " If you can reach them whilst naked, you can have them", I politely refused stating that the steaks were too high! bbolt

Got some bacon from the butchers at Throston the other day and very nice it was too.

Had no smoked bacon like which was disapointing.

Tried all in the town but I reckon Rob Moore at King Oswy is the best.

Elwick road is the only butcher in hartlepool that sells grade A meat.

Out of town, 5 miles to be exact, but Chapmans in Blackhall Colliery is a top notch. They supply a lot of meat to local restaurants in Hartlepool and I the meat comes from the Organic Dropswell Farm near Trimdon, which is another place you could go.

Bolam's is worth the trip for steak and they do a big box of chicken breast for £20. Obviously not in town like but they do supply around the area.

Bolams, prices have shot up and the quality is average.

Roy Blythe on the Fens is best in the town!
