No but I did have a 1973 VW camper when the kids were little......which was well before they became the toys of the middle classes.

Thought it was a bunker rule that caravaners were to be shot on sight.

Is that another softening of this once sacred place?

Static ones are fine by the way

Yes,,,,,,, guilty as charged,,,,,,,we have,,,,,,,a,,,,,,,caravan! But we don't tour with it so please don't shoot me, I,m not to blame for clogging up the roads! It's on a small site in North Yorkshire, never thought I would like it,,,,,but it's great, very relaxing after a stressful week at work and another defeat for Pools! See you all next Thursday night! HUST.

I'm a caravanner. My rig consists of a KIA Sorento and an Elddis Crusader Storm twin axle. Have camped/caravanned all my life and love the freedom it gives. only use it in the UK though 'cos there are still loads and loads of places to see and visit.
I am extremely pleased and relieved to hear that the Colonel is on the opposite bus, as I would hate to spend my valued leisure time parked next to him.
Mr I and myself have always been intellectually in front of most of you lot by a long long way, so it doesn't surprise me when I read your comments.
Had a static at Castle Howard for a few years but we decided it was better to be able to visit different places.
I can understand the Colonel preferring statics however. Sums him up really !!!!

Er, really?, how can you have freedom with a static ( the clues in the name) caravan.? That's like going for a cruise on the Wingfield Castle, but going nowhere.
