Dear God,
I need a miracle. Please do something, please make Pools win this game now. Do it and from this moment on I will know for sure that you're up there watching over us. God, do it and make me love life again. Make me good, grateful, compassionate and extraordinarily happy to belong to this planet. Do it. For once in my life, make me feel like the bloke from the Blue Nile when he unexpectedly sold 800,000 albums back in 1990. Please.

According to the BBC There has still only been a single foul after 80 minutes.
The Newport game has 14 fouls so far. Are we fighting to retain league status?

Seeing as Doncaster have lost 3 on the bounce that surely means that they'll beat us, we're good at ending runs like that

The way this season is going, Notts County will beat Newport and Pools will still be relegated.
Pools have had their chances to pull away from the bottom two, but only 1 win the last 10 has been our downfall!

It's a totally different ball game next week with everything on Newport to get a result even a point might won't be good enough for them if we win (no I can't see it but knowing Pools you just never know)

Knowing Pools we do know though, if Newport don't beat Notts County we will save them.

It really is that perverse this game.

All the talk before the game that this would be a 'different' Pools. Well it looked the same as the one we saw under Dave Jones, bar a little bit more effort.

The team is far from being good enough. Woods, Featherstone, Harrison and Magnay all had howlers.

Pitch didn't help but when will we learn that long hoofed balls into Amond won't work. The few times we played some football we looked a bit of a threat. Regardless, wasn't one clear cut chance all game for us.

Supporters were tremendous and deserve so much more than the shite that's served up. The blame lies firmly at one man's door... Mr Coxall, please fuck off out of our club.

The players were giving it large all week, shackles off and all that, well sounded the same to me. Could be my worst nightmare next week, going out of the league at home, would rather it of happened today if it is going to happen. We still in with a chance, but how do you beat Donny if you cant score?. Donny could have 5 pints of no 3 IPA in the Rat Race Ale House before the game and probably still beat us.

The only positive I can take out of the situation is that we are still not dead and buried, and that makes you wonder if yet again lady luck is smiling upon us and we could yet again do the unthinkable.

Where the hell was Bates today? I would of thought he would of wanted to lead from the front. He is no Len Ashurst that's for sure.

The people criticizing the players for being shite and singling out individuals are totally missing the point and should start engaging their grey matter. Pools with an average crowd of over 3500, high percentage of season ticket holders, record sponsorship money (allegedly) had a fire sale of 1st team players in January to pay off debts accrued because of defaulting on payments to the tax man. The squad is made up of ex non league players and the form and morale at the club seemed to go pop around the time of the winding up petitions.

At the end of the day the fault 100% lies in the way the club has been run and these people want running out of town before they make another penny of personal gain from us. Newport, a fans run club, on small gates went out and bought 11 players in the Jan transfer window, spot the difference? To be honest if Hignett had been in charge with his squad before the fire sale I don't think we would have gone down, however it wouldn't change my views on the mob running the club at the moment

No arguments there. The blame does lie solely at our cockney mafia running the club.

Was merely stating what I saw today - and that was a team nowhere near good enough to stay in the football league.

There's no doubt about that mate. My post wasn't aimed at you or this thread in particular just the general noise (I make the mistake of reading the FB page for example) about how shite the players are and it's all their fault blah blah.

Like you say they aren't good enough collectively but the blame for that lies with the owners. I think most sensible people know this and finally the mood seems to have turned at long last into a collective one of getting these frauds out. It's just a shame it's needed the loss of our league status for many to see the light

Unfortunately while some of us were shouting it from the rooftops others were won over by the appointment of Jones and the pisstake that was the Fans Forum.

Its an indication of how bad things are when the cavalry is Lewis Hawkins and Jordan Richards. That's not meant to be disrespectful to those lads, the reality is that the bench has been piss weak for months ( when we have managed to fill it ) and players woefully out of form and lacking in confidence have kept their places because we have so few options.

There's a lad come on today ( according to the BBC website ) wearing the number 99 shirt, Connor Simpson, I don't even know who he is. That's what it has come to.

There comes a point when blaming players for not being good enough becomes in itself pointless. I think they know it themselves, they weren't the ones selling players in January and not replacing them. Indeed they were the ones not getting paid by our twat of an owner.

This.

I genuinely think the players have tried and do care. They'd be daft not to where do they go from here?

Just got home.

I've seen that game so many times this season.

The bottom line for me is, as much as they work hard they lack that bit of extra quality to win games. That game would've been winable for a lot of the teams in this division, Cheltenham are not great. I don't necessarily blame the players. Yes, they aren't world beaters but with confidence we are good enough to be better than at least two other teams with this squad.

The lack of investment from the top is obviously a top factor and Jones absolutely destroyed an already fairly fragile team BUT when he took over, not one person was talking about relegation. We all, me included, thought we were safe when he took over.

Mismanagement by the owners at not getting shut sooner is criminal - they should've known the effect he was having on the players and everyone else at the club and fucked him off. To not manage another 2 or 3 wins between when he took over and today, for me, was never going to happen, even if he was a muppet, but he's managed it.

I would love to believe that Notts Co will turn Newport over on their ploughed field and we'd beat a Doncaster team trying to win the league but for me, today was the day when if miracles were going to happen this was step number one towards it. We just weren't good enough to grind out a win and we just don't seem capable despite the huff and puff of creating clear cut chances.

Gutted.

And please, please...to those Poolies who give the fucking players shit all the time, just stop it. Is that going to motivate them to play better? Would it you? There is a huge difference betweeen players coasting through games and not giving a fuck and those who work hard but just don't have that extra bit of quality and today, we were the latter and for the record, that pitch was truly fucking abysmal, impossible to play it along the floor. Bobbled like fuck and I mean like fuck. It's all well and good to say it's the same for both teams, well yes it is, but our lads don't play on it every other week.

Also, to those who just shout 'FORWARD' at the top of their voices when there isn't a forward pass on, just please keep it to yourselves. I'm not the crowd police but you sound like a dick.

I understand the frustration, the desire for the team to do well and how those emotions can turn into anger against the players but fucking hell, sort it out, it's unhelpful and you sound like a cock (in my opinion) - sorry, I should add, when it's warranted to bollock the players, fair enough, but it wasn't today.

As for the performance, we didn't create enough clear cut chances, those that we created were very difficult and if we'd put one or two of them away they'd have been quality finishes or goalkeeper errors.

Can't be arsed to type owt else right now.

I don`t understand why they keep loading the bench with Rooney and Rodney, is it in the loan agreement or what?

Thomas wasn`t injured, he was just poor and got pulled.

I would leave him out next week and Featherstone who was poor again today.

midfield next week of Blackford,Hawkins, Allesandra, Deverdics in those positions.

Oates and Simpson up top, get quality balls in the box and let the two big lads head 3 or 4 goals in, bring Amond on last 20.

No complaints on effort or passion today. The players gave everything but unfortunately we simply don't have the quality.

The most ridiculous thing for me today was a hundred Pools fans in Darlo shirts.

It's not his fault but you could see our fate being sealed when him and that bairn from Sunderland (apart from Defoe I wouldn't want a first player) were our January signings when we shipped out two of our first choice back four and a regular in centre midfield from a team already in the bottom 6-8 of League two.

It's a game of opinions, for me Jordon Richards was the best Pools player on the pitch, looked like a player who'd been playing regularly in a side not getting beat every week, wanted the ball and delivered it well.

Thomas was poor and it was disappointing to see him and Billy Paynter having words when he went off. He's clearly a very frustrated player at the moment, but when it's not happening, it's not happening.

Plenty of effort, no quality.

We can't score goals, Doncaster will beat us, what hope is there of us scoring enough goals to beat one of the top sides when we've failed to win any of the games that we should have done against the bottom sides. It's depressing.

They gave everything yesterday but as you say, they simply weren't good enough. That said, 100% effort will always do for me and that's what they gave.

The blame lies in the boardroom.

I turned up thinking how sick I'd feel if the players didn't try and the truth is that they did try but they aren't up to the job. I wouldn't argue about Jordan Richards being one of our better players but the truth is that he just played his heart out. No vision and some wild passing but still one of our best.

Fans great, players were full of effort and Carlisle did us a favour. The joy of football is that you never know for certain how Saturday will turn out. Only certainty is that whether we stay up or go down there needs to be a serious fight to save the club - relegation isn't our biggest problem.

And same paper/journalist brings up toto at every opportunity being a calamity.

I'd go as far as saying if neither carroll or toto had been sold they would of played every game available in defence and we wouldn't be in this desperate situation.

The defence yesterday quality wise is an embarrassment to football league
