Its so much worse than last year even when we were cut adrift and 10 points away from safety or whatever.

Hope its not another "Oldham"

Hope we do another Oldham. They do it every year!

C'mon the pools.

Got very little work done over the last couple of days when I should have been very busy. Keep drifting off, coming on here, looking at fixtures, consulting form charts and so on. Keep thinking that we haven't been as bad at home and Barnet have nothing to play for. On the other hand the players seem to wilt under pressure so why should they rise to this challenge? Maybe the knight with a shining arm will arrive to save us by punching one in from a corner?

Dreading tomorrow but wishing it was over and I could start worrying about Cheltenham instead.

I believe its shit or bust. Nothing but a win will do because I can't see us getting much from Cheltenham or Doncaster's promotion party.

[quote="ElvisC"]..stomach in absolute knots already? Honestly, I feel physically ill.

I wonder/ assume that the players who care are feeling equally nervy.

And those that worry about their future earning potential will surely be worried.

And then we have those that are simply too thick or arrogant - and for those we can only place our trust in the 'Jones nous'........................

If we win tomorrow and Newport lose, I'd still be unsure, because if any team can snatch defeat from the jaws of victory we've got the team to do it, we have no equals.

I can see it now , last game of season and all we got to do is not get beat by a goal difference of 4 goals or more, and we are safe!!!! Oh Shit. :-o :-o

To gain a psychological advantage over the opposition, Bill Shankly once paraded a trophy around Anfield before a crucial European cup tie.

As trophies are a bit thin on the ground, maybe a walkabout for the 1990/1991 promotion squad might rouse the players and fans.

Maybe four belt fed machine guns on the floodlights might focus them even more.

We are in no way in as perilous a position as in say 72 or 97 or even 99, but something just doesn't feel right this time, the fans seem tired and not up for the fight, maybe its because they realise that next season we will have to do it all again, and its going to get more difficult season on season, and because of that they just cant be arsed anymore.

Bristol City away is the worst I have ever felt at the end of a Pools game, we so deserved to win that game, had momentum, cruelly lost then their fans were absolute *****. None of the relegations felt as bad but I suppose they were long drawn out deaths of crapness.

The play off final was my worst moment, closely followed by the relegation from League One a year later.

I haven't really put much thought into it this week, I'm sort of resigned to us playing in the conference next season, however I'll be totally different tomorrow, the game will likely be an emotional rollercoaster and end up in me walking out at full time checking for away games in the conference.

I agree Bristol City was the worst I've felt, Cheltenham was close as well on penalties. You are genuinely gutted when you feel it for the players as well. If go out of the League then we deserve to, I'm getting bored of this year after year to be honest and a change of teams and scenery might not be the worst thing from that point of view. I said this at the match a few weeks ago in a moment of weakness and was talked around by those around me given the current state of our club that we'd be more like a York or Torquay than a Cheltenham or Tranmere. Look at how much stronger Lincoln will come back into the League. I will be sad and very, very angry if we lose our status we have proudly fought for over 96 years. But with the parachute payment now it's not the disaster it once was.

After one play off result I walked out into the garden and literally kicked the picnic table to death for staring at me. My neighbour watched me and asked me if something was wrong. He doesn't do footy.
The table was on it's deathbed anyway. It didn't feel better, then calamity, the love of my life appeared as if by magic. Bad day at Black Rock.

Just cannot contemplate maybe for the humiliation aspect too, as everyone knows we are shit but to go down in such a manner with no fight is unforgiveable, not excluding the oaf of a manager and our pathetic excuse for a chairman.

In some ways if it falls out over the 90 minutes it's better than if you are needing to tear it out Rinkender (I'll take the positives in anything at the moment)

Today is the most nervous and apprehensive I have ever, ever felt before a game. I can,t even comprehend what a loss today will mean, it doesn,t bear thinking about. If this lot turn out today in front of a vociferous and passionate crowd and give nothing back I will be soreley tempted, even at my age, to invade the pitch and give them all a good slap.

I just want to get it all over and done with now and hope that the next few months brings in new owners, new manager and new players no matter what division we are in. rakxe rakxe rakxe banghead banghead banghead

I would suggest drinking steadily. Pace it out. I watched the play off final in a pub with some mates. It was a sombre mood at the final whistle then we carried on drinking and the pain was numbed somewhat.

Well, it's down to the players now. I just hope they're up for it. A nervous performance won't go down well. The crowd will hopefully do their bit. Crunch time.

I have just had a look at the league table and didn,t realise Accy are just 2 points outside the play offs so they will be well up for it at Newport. They have just become my second team unless they lose!
