Somethings sound familiar here don't you think? Could be a view into our future if we went down and didn't manage to come back up. Torquay aren't the first to go that way and they certainly won't be the last.

Now only if there was no financial penalty for getting relegated, but less rules around the ownership of football teams in the Conference.

Oh fuck...

This bit I don't like

Backed by Supporters Direct, Michael Goulbourne, chairman of the Torquay United Supporters Trust, has listed the land on which Plainmoor is built as an Asset of Community Value and is disputing the council’s interpretation of ACV legislation. Having taken publicly funded legal advice, it informed an incredulous TUST that the ACV had been registered against the lease and not the freehold of Plainmoor, in effect making it redundant

When I think about Pools, I get either really angry, or really depressed. At the moment its just mainly angry.

I genuinely do think I would be a happier person all round if I just stopped going and found something else to do.

This, with bells on. One of my brothers, and one of my best friends, both Bunker posters, have found happiness doing exactly that.

Seeing as we're entering this Tees Valley clique and they're taking over a raft of powers including major planning and decisions will happen in the Boro, how does it affect the status of the ground then if local councillors are a minority?
Government cuts, prime land, out of town decision, flog it.

Not the case at HBC. The ACV is listed against the freehold of the land. I insisted on this when I applied for the ACV and after it was granted I subsequently did a search against the land registry.

It's good, but vigilance is vital.

Absolutely. The 'Detectives' will be on it.

Incidentally, no sign of any apologies from employees of a certain local paper. Note the absence of the word journalist. It's not applicable after that disgraceful tickle belly session of a so called 'fans forum.

What little credibility was left was shattered after that utterly pathetic performance. A disgrace to the trade.

Thank you Mr I, both for the info and also for getting off your arse in the first place and setting up the ACV.

You bloody detectives are your constant efforts to save our club.

Surely it would be better if you just got your paint brushes out?

Don't know why you bother if that's the thanks you get.

We were warned by Supporters Direct that our main critics would be from our own fan base. I don't know why we bothered either. Slagged off by a messageboard because of a loose connection to another one, sneered at by the local journalist, ignored by the Chairman and with high-profile supporters warning potential (and interested) members off joining The Trust.

Only at Hartlepool...

And this is exactly why I can never respect the people who have wanted to run it down from day 1 because it wasn't their idea

Our trust had its problems too, the main one being they were sat on a pot of money and point blank refused to release it when it was desperately needed. It seemed that a few of the committee were out of touch with how the fans felt, probably due to the fact that most of them had stopped attending games anyway. Its not an easy job putting yourself in the firing line where its impossible to please everybody but you also have to be seen to be fair to all points of view.

Chip, why don't you seek Coxall out at the game tomorrow?

As the game is very important to the club's future, you would expect the chairman to be there.

The best chairman I ever met was Harold Hornsey. Had a pint with him outside the pub in Barnet. He told me of Pools plans to sign Peter Beardsley and the plans he had for the club. Great bloke, a gentleman and sorely missed.

If I ever had the chance to meet Coxall, I would politely ask him to leave HUFC and never return.

I suggest Chip you make your views known to our present chairman tomorrow, you have the backing of most of the Pools supporters and what you have written above, I fully support and agree with everything.

After all the work that Harold Hornsey did, lets fight for the future of OUR club.

All I'll add to this is that whilst there will be a number of differing views and "loud voices" on both sides I really believe that there is a silent majority who agree with the trusts aims and intentions. I'm too far away to understand the day to day gossip but as a trust member I remain fully supportive of all the hard work that a lot of people are doing on my behalf. Whilst it's hard, I hope the trust board realise that there are many of us who give them our full support and thanks.

Ps - Beardsley was definitely an IOR signing

At the end of the day it's our club. Everything else comes and goes but we are the cement that holds it together and without us it ceases to exist.
We at this level are a special breed, we rejected the idea of latching on to a so called big club and supported our local team and God knows that for most of our history we've had some sh1t lobbed in our direction , but we never walked away.
The club can't protect itself though and I feel this is it's time of greatest danger and threat.... and we are the only people who really care

Harold Hornsey was kept on as paid director after IOR took over.

Good luck in trying to organise a meeting with the present incumbent.

Oh and something I would say to the lads who are getting disheartened I agree with the point above that a silent majority are in favour of the aims of the Trust. I would also take solace in the fact it's the same bunch of morons constantly sniping from the sidelines with the same bollocks based on some bizarre personal agenda
