It was shite the second half, how Dave Jones couldn`t see Oates blowing out of his arse after 60 minutes I don`t know and I assume featherweight was to blame for the goal the way Fryer was screaming at him.
Another no show from Thomas, Donnelly was again dire and Allesandra was poor today, the midfield overran second half and no changes until too late banghead

The one highlight was the Fat Lamb, 3 miles outside Kirby Stephen, the ham hock terrine, walnut bread and piccalli was awesome!

Correct. The Fat Lamb is a cracking pub. Last time I was there I recognised the head chef from Masterchef the Professionals. Top quality

I'm driving over to Southport to tomorrow and will probably go the A66 way that sounds like an option!

Well, moved there when I was 10 and stayed until 25, moved around prior to that every 2 years, Dad a copper, used to go in my teens but my elder bro supported the red utd team and took me a few times, still look out for the results, just sent a letter to their supporters trust who run the club asking why they only employ managers who have failed at there previous clubs!
Go to Birkdale, great bars and restaurants.

Best way to go. Don't go through Preston off the M6 though it's a pain in the arse.

Speaking as a Shrimp , what I saw on Saturday were too of the worst teams that are in League 2. Shocking standard of play from both. It is to be hoped that Newport can't beat Plymouth , Accrington and Carlisle or one of Hartlepool or Morecambe could be going down with Orient !

Can only comment on pools, but its like a divorce if youve been through one. At 1st you see everything through rose tinted glasses then as time goes by you understand you are @ucked.
We have watched the same shite year after year and are still given the same lame excuses.
We now have supposedly an experienced manager which his past would suggest how ever for me he picks the wrong team, never shows any encouragement from the touchline and most of the team are not fit enough to last the full game and he still wont make substitutions.
Winning at morecambe was so important and yet for what i seen on the pitch from pools was from a team who just doesn't give a @uck and on that basis for me and many others it wont be a shock if we go down, its self inflicted from bad decisions not just over this season but at least the last 3.

I find it a bit staggering that people are blaming what happened 3 years ago for whats happening now.

This is firmly at the door of Coxall and his cronies.

What happened in January was disgraceful, and nothing more than cost cutting of the worst kind.

He has fucked Pools over. And yet plenty still blame IOR.

I must be out of touch.

You may well have a point on Coxall thats fair enough but if you think we are now just crap because of the last year or so then i dont think you watch pools much if at all.

We have been dismal and on life support for over five years now. We've got to the stage where we're back celebrating great escapes and we all know how the real thing ended!
I can even see us organising open top bus tours to celebrate yet again being snatched from the jaws of death..... The only difference between now and our pre IOR 'happy days' of perpetual struggle is that you can get a tattoo to remind of he great escape for the rest of your life, but you may run out of skin.

Just look at our history though. Barring the odd blip, we've been shite forever. This is nothing new really is it? Most re-elected club and all that.

Obviously we strive for better like everyone else but unless we get really lucky with the right manager with the right squad at the right time that is within our meagre budget or a shit load of cash from a new owner with a few quid and buy success, it's probably gonna remain as it is....probably.

Yeah, I remember the gates just over a thousand and actually worrying as a teenager how the club could survive, but it did. Which makes all this bollox over the past few years all the harder to stomach. We need competent owners who are actually aware what the the game is about and a stable management set up not changed at the first sign of a setback. We aren't talking somebody to throw loads of cash, just sensible fiscal policies and we can end this roundabout of despair.
Oh, and it would help if some of the fans find their bit and stopped calling for change every time the clocks changed. A successful club needs stability on and off the pitch, not this farce we're enduring at present.
