or alternatively you could, like, not read it. or read the first 2 pages and think, woah staedy on, this is like heavy shiit, im not liking it, im gonna have a wander back to the picture thread.

only when folk is walking to north tees to have operations and shiit cos they cant afford a taxi, dont start saying, jeez how has that come about, thats a bit naughty, you would have thought the politicians would have considered that, cos it will be too bloody late.

anyhows theres a good anti darlo thread on rivals at them moment. loads of swearing, and threats of violence. let me look for the link....hang on i had i here somewhere... timmy mate, im gonna have to get back to you on this one, ive got a bath running and im gonna be in there some time with the sebastian faulks novel engleby. only dont be a tw@t and ruin the ending for me by posting what happens, theres a good chap.

You can be a sarky bastad ((c)adg) can't you Mr Fireball. But having said that, young timmy should take heed of your advise. What is the point of reading a thread, which may be going on a little bit, and then complaining about the content. It reminds me of the 'Mary Whitehouse' types who complain about all the sex and violence in a TV programme, "Don't watch the bl**dy thing then".

"Certainly, it's hard to imagine being like Engleby. When he's not being 'dim', he's being clever, though no less annoying, with grating cultural analyses, wine tips, ruminations on time and literary theory, sniffy asides about people who say 'I' when they mean 'me' and can't spell and ask for their steak well done. Everything is beneath him."

It's not giving away the ending Chip, but is Mr Faulks novel about you?

i see a lot of similarities mr billingham, an awful lot.

hell, this is the bunker. its where we come to discuss football, and its where we come to discuss life. its where we come to escape the monotony of our dull day jobs and the shite that clogs up our tv screens.

heres the irony.1997 labour returns to power. the day after the election i get on the train at balham and theres loads of people, fellow commuters, smiling. people like me who thought " its our turn now, we have put up with this shiit for a generation, and things are gonna be different now, everything is going to be okay." we bought into that "things can only get better" guff.

and, yeah, we have had 10 years of economic stability, and working families tax credit, and the schools and hospitals have had coin flung at them, but ultimately, nothing much has changed. we are still being governed by ex public school boys pandering to middle england, and the gap between the wealthiest and the poorest has got bigger.much bigger. and toadying little no marks like wright still toe the line, even when it means shafting the people he is meant to be representing.

or in the worlds of jarvis cocker, c*** are still running the world.

if i want to talk about that on here, then i bloody well will. if timmy is upset about that, then im afraid, in this case, trimdon law applies.

rolfl rolfl rolfl oh dear, how about joining a political party then to try and make a difference mr chip. oh and btw where is the picture board, you are right after a hard days work i should know better and move onto the next post.

Couldn't agree more Chip. I come in here to escape the dull boring reality that is my life, and avoid that big bad world out there. I'm led to understand the leadership of our good country changed hands yesterday, but I didn't see any news in the last 24 hours, so I'm not sure about the details. But at the end of the day, no matter who is apparently 'in charge', the country is actually run by the Civil Servants. All we can do is try to make sure we survive whatever new rules are put in place.

Well it is, because one votes for the party, not the leader, so there is no need to call an election

So the way it is, we'll have people coming into town on a train and then only being able to get on a bus that will then take them back out of town.... stpid
...by the way, Barnsley has just opened its new 'intercgange, it cost £42 million ...ours cost £2.5 million.........hmmm. Councillor Robbie Payne said..."It will be fantastic when it's up and running" I tend to take the contrary view.

in my next life incarnation, I want to be a civil servant. One that is very influential in public life, so I can be an effective c**t instead of an ineffective one. With a big fat, guaranteed, public service sector pension when I retire at the grand old age of 48.

Aren't you already 48?
Surely no-one on this board is under 48. People under 48 are just silly
