Hopefully we put in a towering performance and don't play like donkeys.

We'll need to winkle out a few chances against a rock of a defence or we could get battered and just pick off scraps.

On behalf of my family and friends, sorry friend, ok just the family, may I offer my sincere apologies for this tripe

Shouldnt Pools fans be supporting the Blackpool fans by not paying Oyston to go to this game?

Forget that, just remembered plenty still went to the Johnstones paint trophy games.

Leyton, Newport and Cheltenham all draw. Pools lose.

Pool 1 Pools 2

Amond, Walker

1650 Poolies, at least a few bell-ends will try to strike up "Ten German Bombers".

Surely the players can get motivated and put in as good a shift as they did at Cambridge, in front of such a great following? Surely???...

I remember the last time we took 1,600 to Blackpool that didn't end well, or start well in fact I think we were 4-0 down at half time with Neil Danns running the show. Mark Robinson was subbed and never played again for Pools. I think our next visit also in front of 1,000+ Poolies we won with a Stephen Istead goal in a 2-1 win.

Are they our last two visits?

Is that a back three then? Or is Deverdics playing full back again?

Bastad.

Just caught the end on Sky and Ian Dowie at the match was full of praise for our performance saying its extremely unfortunate that we were behind. A defeat is a defeat though, fortunately no harm done with the bottom two still looking like gonners.

He was one of the players Earthworm Jim singled out for praise he said out front three were a constant threat particularly Thomas.

Walker looks immense at centre back. Thomas was getting a lot of stick but he should have been subbed off half way through the second half, no idea why he was on til the end. Amond missed an easy chance, we had a header cleared off the line too but Amond puts in some shift. We dominated for long periods but Blackpool away was always going to be a tough game.

Cracking atmosphere like.

Next week is huge now.

We've got to win otherwise the play-offs will be mathematically out of reach.

Great atmosphere today and Blackpool were there for the taking, but as usual we gave them 2 goals.
1st goal Donnelly at fault just didn't close the lad down i bet he even said thankyou.
2nd goal down to Thomas not closing down and walker had a right go at him and it was just a fluke it went in, it was a cross.
Overall some good football from pools but its the same old story lack of composure and quality up front and missing good chances when they came along.
Must mention Walker stand out player for pools he just seems to have that little bit of class which sadly alot of his team mates just dont have.

Thomas was poor today, plenty of effort but needs to understand there's other players to pass to when you're surrounded by three of the opposition.

Amond did everything right with that chance, was just an excellent save. The ref was poor, along with the home "support", thought we did enough to get at least a point but it was one of those days.

Walker should be our record incoming fee but we are weak as piss in sales negotiations, buyers sense our desperation and we always sell way under value. Thomas was poor I thought but in general his individual play when on form is superb at this level, however his team play is and was very weak, and Oates should have been introduced on the hour.

Donnolly was poor at stopping the first goal, second was a hopefull lob which the keeper should have at least tipped over the bar, got to defend better or its going to be a nervy end to the season.

I'm stratching my head to see how Fryer could have tipped that over the bar, it was a total fluke but unsavable in my eyes.

He should have reacted quicker watched where the ball was going and moved after it. saveable in my eyes.

Correct. One in a million fluke I'm afraid.

It's right to say both goals should have been defended better, Donnelly was on his heels to allow shot for first and Hawkins let the lad by him way too easy in the build up to 2nd .......but in fairness our goal should have been defended much better than it was.

Seems Pools have given a really good account of ourselves both on and off the field.

We played very well, deserved at least a point. All I would say is that we don't defend tight enough at times and that's what cost us. We need to learn how to defend more aggressively and I don't mean giving fouls away and getting players sent off.

I remember thinking yesterday that Thomas should have been back to mark their 21. Donnelly, though he should have done better closing him down, was already preoccupied by their 9 when the ball came in. If Thomas was doing his job tracking back then I don't think that goal happens.

Hawkins gave the ball away for their first goal. Their man just ran in a straight line with the ball without being pressed or tackled. He stopped near our by line and managed to get a cross in despite two of our players in attendance, neither of which looked remotely like stopping the cross. I thought the scorer controlled the ball with his hand like.
The Pools players looked frightened to tackle but worked hard and didn't deserve to be beaten. But you can't allow people to run at your defence and get crosses in without any resemblance of a challenge. Their second goal was a fluke.
I was really impressed with Walker's performance.
What can I say about the support? Fantastic turnout and fantastic backing.
It was a good game to watch. Both teams creating goalmouth incidents. it could have ended 4~4 or higher.
I was surprised we didn't bring more subs on. Some of our lads were struggling in the last 15 minutes and fresh legs were needed.
Nathan Thomas appeared in a couple of flashes but he didn't look fully fit to me. Has Jones got no confidence in the lads on the bench. Allegedly the warmest day of the year so far, good reason to freshen it up.
Amond must be one of the fittest footballers around however. Should have got his name on the scoresheet though. I think he would get more goals if someone else was taking the brunt up front.

The bench is mainly kids who played on Wednesday and were poor, especially the front two.
Hawkes is ok but he has only had 1 minute on pitch.
